Christ United Reformed Church, 10333 Mast Blvd., Santee, CA, 92071, United States.

Christ United Reformed Church is hosting a FREE community event on October 22, 2016. Join us from 9am-3pm for teaching and discussion on this important subject.

With so many churches out there, how can anyone be sure he is attending the right one?

Is choosing a church a consumer choice or does the Bible show us how to identify a true one?

What can we learn from the Protestant Reformation about the marks of a true church?

Our conference speakers include:

Rev. Michael Brown has served as pastor of Christ United Reformed Church in Santee since it began as a church plant in 2003. He is a graduate of Westminster Seminary California, holding a Master of Divinity degree, and an MA in historical theology. He has authored and contributed to several books, including Sacred Bond: Covenant Theology Explored (Reformed Fellowship, 2012) and Christ and the Condition: The Covenant Theology of Samuel Petto  (RHB, 2012). He has also published numerous essays on historical theology in academic journals, as well as pastoral articles in popular magazines such as Modern Reformation, Banner of Truth, and Tabletalk. He also serves on the URCNA Missions Committee.

Dr. Ryan Glomsrud has taught historical theology as a visiting instructor at Westminster Seminary California since 2007. He joined the faculty after completing a Graduate in Residence program at Harvard Divinity School and a Postdoctoral Research Fellowship in the History Department at Harvard University. He is an ordained elder at Christ United Reformed Church (URCNA) in Santee, CA. His research interests include Reformation and early modern theology, nineteenth century Protestantism, the theology of Karl Barth, and modern European intellectual history. Dr. Glomsrud is the Executive Editor of Modern Reformation magazine and has published scholarly articles on historical theology.

Rev. Christopher Gordon was ordained to the Ministry of the Word in October, 2004. Rev. Gordon is a native of Central California, and prior to answering God’s call into the ministry, he was a high school Bible teacher in the central Californian valley. Rev. Gordon received his Master of Divinity degree from Westminster Seminary in Escondido, CA. He pastored at the Lynden United Reformed Church from 2004 to July 2012, and presently pastors in the Escondido United Reformed Church. He is also the host of Abounding Grace Radio, a Christian radio program that airs across the U.S. and Canada.
