Overview of program: 

Mental-Hop is a symposium style workshop that takes Social Workers and Change Agents on a journey to better understand how Mental-Health & Hip-Hop can be utilized together to positively impact the lives of those we serve. Dr. Sconiers (Dr. S) utilizes Knowledge, Music, Videos, and Thought Provoking Discussion to help Social Workers and Change Agents explore how Hip-Hop Culture can be a powerful tool for Wellness and Healing.

 

Objectives: The following learning objectives will be the focus of the Mental-Hop Experience for participants.

1. Participants learn how Hip-Hop Culture can be utilized to Engage people in regards to Mental-Health/Wellness in order to decrease Stigma & Shame around the topic.

2. Participants will learn specific approaches and strategies to utilize Hip-Hop Culture to Educate people about Mental-Health/Wellness and its importance to their overall functioning.

 

3. Participants will learn specific approaches and strategies to utilize Hip-Hop Culture as an Empowerment Tool for Healing and Wellness.
