New to a Unit event? NASW-NJ has 12 volunteer-led, county-based Units that hold regional events around the state of New Jersey for members in that area. (However due to the public health emergency, Unit events will be held virtually until further notice!) These events are planned and coordinated by an appointed volunteer Chair and Co-Chair, as well as a Regional Representative from NASW-NJ’s Board of Directors. The Essex County Unit Chairs are Felicia Fdyfil, LCSW (hopetsllc@gmail.com), and Ravjit (Ruby) Sekhon, LCSW (rsekhonlcsw@gmail.com), and the Northeastern Regional Representative is Sierra Spriggs, LSW (sms2384@columbia.edu).

Climate Café Part 2

We would like to invite you all back for a Climate Café pt.2! For anyone who missed the first meeting, Climate Café creates a simple, reflective, empathic space where fears and uncertainties about the climate crisis can be safely expressed and held. There is no guest speakers or lectures and the café remains an advice-free zone. Based on the model of death cafes. Climate cafes have been increasingly utilized to help a variety of individuals and communities find ways to face and bear the unsettling realities of the planetary crisis.
