 Working with trauma survivors can be challenging yet very rewarding. Understanding the implications of our clients experience with trauma is critical in our work. Our clients attachment needs are an essential component of the therapeutic relationship. Understanding our clients’ attachment needs and injuries as well as increasing our awareness about the mini and maxi traumas that they have experienced assists us in identifying appropriate treatment modalities. A brief summary of each treatment modality will be presented.

The types of treatment modalities that will be briefly covered will be Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, EMDR, Internal Family Systems, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Somatic Experiencing Therapy and Post Induction Therapy.

 Attendees will learn how to;

 Identify and develop a trauma timeline

2.      How to use an attachment assessment

3.      Increase their awareness about the most effective treatment modalities for trauma work
