2 Ethics CEUs
This webinar discusses the broader topic of social work ethics through the lens of risk management. Situations that have resulted in complaints and or ethical violations, as well as ways to mitigate risk, will be presented. The most common types of complaints and lawsuits and actual (de-identified) complaints are part of its content to highlight complex scenarios. Through a Q &A format, presenters will field questions from participants.
Learning Objectives:
At the end of the webinar, the participants will:
1. Have a renewed understanding of the importance of the NASW Code of Ethics for Risk Management
2. Have identified issues that occur in the sections on responsibilities to clients and to colleagues that have the potential for ethical violations.
3. Identify challenging client and colleague situations that require supervision/outreach to the ASI Hotline.
4. Identify strategies for preventing ethical violations.
For those licensed in NY: NASW New Jersey Chapter SW CPE is recognized by the New York State Education Department's State Board for Social Work as an approved provider of continuing education for licensed social workers #SW-0138. This course does not necessarily meet supervision requirements in the state of New York.
