Shortly after Abraham Lincoln wins the presidential election of 1860, South Carolina declares secession from the United States of America.  Several Southern states follow and adopt similar ordinances of secession, and together in February 1861, they adopt a provisional constitution for the Confederate States of America.

The bombardment and surrender of Fort Sumter commences the American Civil War in April, 1861. There is widespread support from both the North and South for further military action. Lincoln calls for volunteers to help suppress the rebellion and more southern states secede and join the Confederacy.

On September 17th, 1862 – exactly 152 years ago, in Antietam, Maryland our divided nation has its bloodiest day in American history thus far with 22,717 casualties.  This is where your battle begins.

The war is now at your front steps and you must protect those you love and choose where your allegiance lies, with the North or with the South.  You are back in time to fight two major battles: The Battle of Antietam and The Battle of Gettysburg.  At Antietam, you will have to defend or take over key grounds on the front line to help your side win the battle and potentially change the outcome of the war.  In addition, crucial missions for medicine, food and other basic supplies will either bolster or weaken your forces.  Soldiers must be wary of more than muskets, as disease and starvation can be just as deadly.

General Robert E. Lee launches his second invasion of Northern territory, advancing you on to the Battle of Gettysburg in the summer of 1863. You defend Devil’s Den, Little Round Top, Cemetery Hill and help commandeer Culp’s Hill.  Several significant skirmishes break out all throughout the hills of Gettysburg, making it the bloodiest battle of the entire war with 51,000 total casualties.

The final crucial battle of the Civil War brings you to the township of Appomattox Court House, Virginia in April, 1865.  You and your fellow soldiers are strained from years of bloodshed.  Four supply trains will be entering Appomattox Station carrying clothes, blankets, equipment, medical supplies and food for Lee’s army.  Although heavily guarded by Confederate soldiers, will history repeat itself and the Federal forces overtake the station, forcing General Lee to surrender to Ulysses S. Grant?

Changing the outcome of any one of these battles could easily alter history.  Keeping the physical strength and morale of your troops up is but a part to ensuring your side is victorious.
