2nd NH Summit on Digital Equity: Toward Systemic Digital Equity
Friday November 3rd, 2017
Great Room, Simon Center
New England College
You are invited!
The National Collaborative for Digital Equity at New England College cordially invites you to join us for the nation's second statewide summit on digital equity.
At the first summit, on February 3rd 2017, we helped nearly a dozen NH communities explore whether and how best to form school/community partnerships to close the digital divide at home for low income learners of all ages. Since then, great progress has been made:
v More than a dozen NH neighborhoods, schools and communities have formed GenYes chapters for the first time, equipping youths with the skills to provide tech support for non-tech savvy educators, relatives and neighbors.
v The National Collaborative for Digital Equity (www.digitalequity.us) has formed a national advisory council of banking leaders to provide guidance to community and school system leaders on how best to prepare plans and funding proposals to support their local systemic digital equity efforts.
v Several other states have begun intensive plans to replicate the NH statewide summit process of mobilizing communities to close the digital divide in support of local economic and educational opportunity.
At the 2nd NH Summit, come learn about CONCRETE resources and strategies for forming new GenYes chapters, and building on existing ones now to add vitally important new dimensions of local digital equity -- from cybersafety and information literacy, to device financing for families with weak or no credit.
The summit will be of interest to educators, public and school librarians, school board members and administrators, banking and foundation leaders, community organization leaders, and those concerned about workforce development and economic opportunity.
