Either BHS or NWRHS (check email), TBD, Brandon, MS, 39042, United States.

Location:  Family Resource Center

Presenter: Lorie Yates (RCSD Science Specialist)

Description:  This is a whole-day session that will focus on the layout of the new science framework for 4th grade.  We will explore the three dimensions of the new framework (science and engineering practices, crosscutting concepts, and disciplinary core ideas) and learn how these dimensions work together in an elementary science setting.  I will also provide a resource guide that will help 4th grade teachers in planning for the integration of the new science standards in their lessons.  We will also explore the use Gizmos (online science simulations) in the lower elementary classroom. Teachers will experience some lessons/activities that can be used in the coming school year.  There will also be time for collaboration and sharing of ideas and strategies for successful implementation of the new science standards.

CEUs will be offered.  $10 check or money order (no cash please).
