AAUW April 2018 General Meeting
Girl Power: Project Recognition and STEM
April's meeting celebrates girl power! During the cocktail hour from 5 to 6, members will have the opportunity to witness the Girl Scouts and ACE Academy demonstrating STEM activities that AAUW sponsors.
And to support these programs for girls, the branch is going underground--restaurants, that is. Members can buy an underground meal for $50 to support our branch's activities. The menus will be on display in the Quiet Bar at 5:00, and sales begin at 5:15. Bring cash, checks or a credit card.
During the scheduled program, we will meet our 3 Project Recognition recipients: Allison Gee, Shayley Groff and Claire Schuler. These young women exemplify girl power by serving their schools and community and promoting social justice.
Tracy Swift of the Silver Sage Girl Scouts will discuss the benefits of AAUW's sponsorship of STEM camps, and, finally, Sheri "Sharki" Konstra will discuss the ACE Academy and show a video highlighting one of last year's AAUW scholarship recipients.
A social hour with a no-host bar starts at 5:00 PM in the Aspen Room.
Dinner will be served at 6:00.
Choose between a meal of Cobb Salad or Asian Vegetarian Salad. Please see the complete menu under event information on the reservation form. Contact Marci Lingo with dietary restrictions (mlingo@hot-mktg.com or 208-345-2918).
If you choose not to dine, you may, of course, attend the meeting, but there is a fee of $5 to cover the cost associated with the meeting, such as room rental and equipment fees. You will find details about payment on the reservation form.
