AAUW December 2019 General Meeting

Artisans for Hope

Artisans for Hope, a local non-profit serving Boise-area refugees, will sell handcrafted items, from potholders to knit ponchos,  in the Fireplace Foyer before the meeting. The sale of this merchandise, perfect for holiday giving, supports the refugees who made the goods, and the organization. Artisans for Hope accepts cash, checks, and credit cards.

To facilitate our understanding of the struggle of refugees, Veronique Giwe Tongbi from the Democratic Republic of Congo will share the story of her escape from her homeland and of her adjustment to her new life in Boise. Veronique works part time at Artisans for Hope as well as having an at-home sewing business. AAUW member Marci Lingo, who volunteers at Artisans for Hope, will assist Veronique.

A social hour with a no-host bar will begin at 11:00 am in the Fireplace Foyer.

Lunch will be served at 12:00 pm.

Meal choices are available on the registration form.

Contact Stacy Urban (stacycurban@gmail.com) with dietary restrictions no later than Thursday, December 5.
