AAUW November 2017 General Meeting

Truth in Teaching Science: Climate Change in Science Curriculum Standards

Please join us at the Riverside Hotel for 3 perspectives on climate change and how climate change should be reflected in idaho's Science Curriculum Standards. Our speakers include

  • Bill Kaage of the National Parks Service is the Director of the Fire Management Program Center and Division Chief of the Fire and Aviation Division at the National Interagency Fire Center here in Boise.
  • Erin Stutzman teaches Environmental Science at Timberline High School and has received Idaho's Environmental Educator Award.
  • Ilana Rubel is a District 18 Representative in Idaho's House of Representatives who has advocated for the inclusion of climate change in Idaho's Science Curriculum Standards.

A social hour with a no-host bar starting at 5:00 PM in the Aspen Room (Conference Center).

At 5:45 dinner will be served, followed by the program at 6:15.

If you choose not to dine, you may, of course, attend the meeting, but there is a newly instituted fee of $5 to cover the cost associated with the meeting, such as room rental and equipment fees. You will find details about payment on the reservation form.

The branch is actively engaged in public policy work throughout the year, and maintains a presence at the Statehouse during the Idaho legislative session.
