Webinar #1: 12:00 – 12:50 PM
Course Title: “Three-Acre” Stormwater Permitting
Purpose and Objective:
Vermont DEC’s General Permit #3-9050 (“the GP”) has introduced new stormwater treatment requirements for properties with more than three acres of impervious area that either never had an operational storm water permit or utilize stormwater management practices designed prior to the adoption of the 2002 Stormwater Management Manual. Many sites have begun the permitting process for a “Three-Acre Permit”. This webinar looks at practical options for implementation of this permit for existing facilities and owner priorities to meet compliance requirements.

Purpose and Objective:
Vermont’s Department of Buildings and General Services (“BGS”) has implemented a more measured approach to delivering design and construction for State facilities. With detailed Planning and Programming established early, scope, budget, and schedule are well outlined for Legislative approval of budget line item projects. Freeman French Freeman has put this process into practice on many design project including recently on the Department of Labor Modernization Project for BGS. This webinar will examine how this process results in a more successful project.

Course Title: Vermont Climate Action Plan
Purpose and Objective:
The Vermont Climate Action Plan aims to dramatically reduce greenhouse gas emissions, help protect Vermont communities and landscapes from the greatest risks of climate change and create new clean energy industry and jobs. This webinar looks at two methods that BGS is employing to achieve energy targets. Working with Green Mountain Power, multiple State facilities have employed flexible load management to optimize energy usage over the past two years. Additionally, BGS has been steadily transitioning State fleet vehicles towards plug-in hybrid and all-electric vehicles and has begun an EVSE build out at state facilities following a 2019-2020 workplace EV charging survey of state employees. Together, these tactics assist in reducing carbon emissions, enhancing the state’s infrastructure for 21st century needs, and allow for better utilization of renewable energy sources.
Presenter: Brian Sewell | VT BGS
Webinar #4: 3:00 – 3:50 PM
