This course is designed to improve integration between law enforcement, fire, and emergency medical services (EMS) in active shooter events. The course
provides law enforcement officers with key medical skills based on tactical emergency casualty care (TECC) guidelines that can be used at the point of injury (POI) to increase survivability of victims. Participants will discuss rescue
task forces (RTFs), basic hemorrhage control and airway management, and organization of a unified response. Additionally, participants will take part in a
discipline-specific practical exercises that review skills in either law enforcement tactics or medical response. All participants will engage in large-scale practical exercises that tests all of the
concepts and skills introduces and practiced throughout the course.
