This course will train law enforcement officers to observe, identify, and articulate the signs of impairment related to drugs, alcohol, or a combination of both in order to reduce the number of impaired driving incidents, serious injury, and fatal crashes.
This two-day (16-hour class) is intended to bridge the gap between the Standard Field Sobriety Testing (SFST) and Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) courses.
One of the more significant aspects of ARIDE is its review and required student demonstration of the SFST proficiency requirements. ARIDE also stresses the importance of securing the most appropriate biological sample in order to identify substances likely causing impairment.
