The Leading Arts Boards workshop is for arts professionals and board leaders who are serious about creating healthy, balanced, respectful and productive collaborations.  If you’ve heard enough about what you are supposed to do about your board, then its time to focus on what you need to do as an arts professional and board leader. The Leading Arts Boards workshop will help you take a mid-20th century non-profit relic and reshape it into an early 21st century functional partner to art and artists.     

Who should attend: Staff who manage and/or people who sit on Boards of Directors of arts organizations.

Agenda:  

12:30-1:00pm – Networking/registration

1:00-1:05pm – Opening remarks 

1:05-3:00pm – Workshop 

3:00-3:30pm – Q&A / networking 

 *Note, coffee and light snacks will be available. Lunch will not be provided. 

Participants can expect to: 

  • Learn about a framework for practical board organization and structure
  • Hear srategies for recruiting and orienting board members
  • Participate in pratcial problem solving
  • Network and learn from peer arts professionals from across the Triangle

 

This workshop is part of the Arts Matter workshop series sponsored by Triangle Community Foundation in partnership with ARTS Action Research and local organizations in the Triangle like The ArtsCenter.
