Triangle Community Foundation has partnered with ARTS Action Research to bring a series of workshops to the Triangle designed specifically to help nonprofit arts organizations with planning, resource development, knowledge building, and assessment to further their artistic missions.
The Arts Matter Workshops are free and designed to be relevant for nonprofit arts organizations across the arts spectrum, from performing, visual, and presenting, to service arts organizations. While there will be themes and concepts referenced across the workshops, it is not necessary to attend all five. Come to one or come to all!
We are thrilled to also be partnering with Durham Arts Council on the second workshop in the Arts Matter series. Durham Arts Council has been dedicated to supporting the arts in Durham and the Triangle Region for decades and it's an honor to be in their beautiful space to have these important conversations.
Arts Matter Workshop 2: Growing Audiences
For artists, the need and desire to make, produce, present and exhibit art is equaled only by the need and desire to connect that art with an audience. The all want and need people to engage and participate in their work in a meaningful way. It follows then that the most meaningful relationships artists have on every level begin with their audience relationships.
The Growing Audiences Workshop helps align the manner in which arts professionals establish and maintain artistic relationships with the nature of their audience relationships. This alignment provides an informed strategic framework for deepening existing audience relationships, for reaching broader audiences, and identifying and diversifying audiences in appropriate ways.
