“Ionization in HVAC Systems; COVID and Air Quality Control”
Ionization is experiencing a surge in popularity as the coronavirus pandemic fans concerns about air quality. Integrated into HVAC systems, the technology utilizes specialized tubes that take oxygen molecules from the air and convert them into charged atoms that then cluster around microparticles, surrounding and deactivating harmful substances like airborne mold, bacteria, allergens, and viruses. They also attach to expelled breath droplets and dust particles that can transport viruses, enlarging them so they're more easily caught in filters. It's an active process that provides continuous disinfection.

Speaker Bio:
Born in 1956 at Tripler Army Hospital in Hawaii into a Military family. Gil’s Father was a Doctor for the United States Air Force (USAF). Gill lived all over the world from the Philippines to Germany, mostly the West Coast for the USA. Graduated from the University of Miami in 1981, joining USAF as an Officer and then he went into Heating Ventilating and Air Conditioning as part of Civil Engineering.
Since 1985, Gil has been working in all aspects of the HVAC industry in Southern California. Working for Small Contractors, Large Distribution Companies, Factory Rep, Started and Run Design Divisions; Gil took the sales Team for Famillian’s HVAC division while transitioning to Furguson, from nearly zero commercial sales into a successful commercial sales organization. Gil also Started and supervised a Residential/Commercial Design division for Energy Inspectors – successfully implanting right sizing and zoning design for 98 of the top 100 home builders in the US.
