Formerly known as our Spring Fling, welcome to our third Summer Festival! The first locally sponsored multi-day Latin dance event in Hampton Roads in 2022 was a major hit. This one will be even better! Learn to dance Bachata & Salsa. From true beginners to advanced dancer we have something for everyone. Four days with 35 hours of dance classes, dance parties, performances, a live concert, sunrise social, mimosa party, and epic after party to conclude!

Organizers reserve the right to make any needed changes to the lineup and/or attendance of all Artists. We try to have all advertised performers in attendance but is not always in our control. We cannot control weather for outdoor activities and will do our best to have back up plans for inclement weather but please buy at your own risk as there will be no refunds for weather related issues.

 Frequently Asked Questions:

1. What is a Summer Latin Dance Festival? It's a special event dedicated to unifying and celebrating the love of Latin Dance and music. The event includes consecutive days/evenings of dance classes thought by local and out of town instructors, dance parties with social dancing, performances, and (ours includes) a live concert.

2. Can I attend the Summer Festival if I haven’t danced before? Yes! We welcome all levels of experience! If this is your first dance event, you’ve come to the right place! We have a special beginners fling for those starting their dance journey. These are classed designed especially for you!

3. Do I need to bring a partner? No, you do not need to bring a partner. Come by yourself, with a friend, or as a group, it doesn’t matter. Throughout the classes we rotate partners so everyone gets a chance to dance with everyone also during the social dancing people ask and get asked to dance by everyone.

4. What should I wear? For the day workshops wear whatever you are most comfortable in. Most people wear athletic gear with shoes that are you can turn in and won't grip the floor. For the evening socials, generally everyone dresses up, or sometimes there are themes for the attire. For more information check out our blog on our website.

5. How much do tickets cost? There are a variety of different passes. The Full Pass offers the most value. Please see options below.

6. Can I purchase tickets at the door? No – there will be no ticket sales at the door for Saturday night. Pre-sale tickets are discounted. All purchases must be made before August 1, 2024.

7. Is there a bar? For attendees 21+, there will be a bar at each evening social.

8. Is parking available? Yes there is! Parking is available in the Virginia Beach Convention Center parking lots.

Alien (AH-lee-en) Ramirez, is a 24x Salsa and Latin Dance Champion. She is internationally recognized and admired for her ability to excel across multiple genres, having won world titles for Salsa Cabaret, Solo, Bachata and more. She is in demand all over the world as a Performer, Educator and Adjudicator. Alien was born in Bayamo, Cuba. She started dancing at the age of four and trained at EIA (Escuela de Instructores de Arte), where she developed her skills in Ballet, Contemporary, Jazz, Modern, Gymnastics, Flamenco, Cuban Folklore, Afro-Cuban, and other Latin styles. Not only is she a professionally trained dance performer, but Alien also holds a degree from EIA as a professional instructor. Alien’s success is not limited to winning World Dance Championships. She has also appeared as a dancer and/or choreographer for many videos, commercials, and TV shows, including “So You Think You Can Dance”. Her passion for dance generates admiration and raw emotion because of her unique style of flavour, elegance, and sensuality. Furthermore, dancing is her way of giving back to world, as shown through her yearly trips to Cuba to teach dance to underprivileged children from her hometown.

Stephany Moore is a Latin Dancer born in Venezuela and raised in South Florida. At the age of six, Stephany took her first ballet class. After several years, Stephany traded in her ballet shoes for a camera. At the age of 14, she ventured into modeling and acting under the guidance of Barbizon Modeling and Acting school. Finally, at age 17 is when she discovered her passion for Latin Dance. Stephany learned her first salsa steps at Prestige Dance Company, where she stayed for seven years. Since then, she has traveled the world while training and competing in various countries such as Mexico, Italy, and the USA. Stephany has had the honor of performing with amazing artists such as Prince Royce, Shelia E, and Roberto Roena. She has also participated in the World Salsa Summit, winning first place alongside her mentor and dance coach, Melanie Castillo. Stephany is currently living in New York City, where she is advancing in her Salsa training and establishing herself as a New York dancer to keep an eye on! Angel Peguero is a Dominican Native, born in New York City, and raised in Philadelphia. Angel started off as a sport’s athlete, multi-talented in various sports, predominantly in boxing, basketball, and football. At the age of 18, Angel discovered his passion for Latin dance and never looked back. He began his training with 4x World Champion, Darlin Garcia, then also trained with 2x World Champion, Noel Rodriguez. Norberto “Betto” Herrera, from Ecuador, migrated to New Jersey with his family in 1996 as a teenager. He started to train in Latin dance to feel in touch with his culture, an experience which inspired him to seek knowledge about the roots of Afro-Latin music and dances. Soon after joining the US Marines in 2000, Betto started teaching Afro-Latin dance classes at Camp Lejeune, NC and the Jacksonville USO. His desire to dance, led him to the Triangle Area, where he started teaching as well, and finally founded Mambo Dinamico Dance Company in 2002, and continued teaching lessons even after his discharge from Active duty in 2004. He now teaches at Carmen’s Cuban Cafe, in a partnership that has helped create a vibrant dance scene in the Triangle area. During his career, Betto had sought training and mentorship from some leaders in the dance and music industry, like Salsa instructor Ismael Otero, Afro-Cuban Masters Felix “Pupy” Insua (+) and Marisol Blanco, legendary Palladium Mambo Dancer Pedro Aguilar aka “Cuban Pete” (+) and Barbara Craddock (+), and Ethnomusicologist Prof. David Garcia from UNC-CH. Some highlights of his career include: Featured artist at national and international dance conferences. Appointed as judge of several regional and international competitions. Featured in many local and national publications. Appearances in local and international television. Sought as a subject for scholarly research by University professors and students because of his expertise in Afro-Latin dance and music. DARLIN GARCIA Owner/Artistic Director/Instructor/ Choreographer/Company Team Director Darlin Garcia is the founder and artistic director of Art In Motion Dance & Fitness, and the Art In Motion Latin Dance Company. Born in the Dominican Republic, this energetic dancer, performer, and instructor has gained recognition as one of the top male salsa dancers in the Philadelphia/NJ area. With over twenty two years of experience, Darlin Garcia has taught and performed locally, nationally and internationally in countries like China, France, Panama, Ireland, Trinidad, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Japan, and the United Kingdom. Darlin is the 2023 World Bachata Champion, and the 2021 World Salsa Champion. He and his partner Keila Perez-Vega placed 1st in the world in their Salsa on1 division and 1st in the Bachata Classic Division. Darlin holds several W?orld Champion titles in the Competition since 2013 in several divisions including Bachata Teams, Cha Cha Cha, Bachata Classic and more. Some of his other accomplishments include 3rd place in the 2006 ESPN World Salsa Championship. Sharonne Vinokurov is the Founder/Artistic Director of Prima Dance Company and a World Champion with titles for Salsa, Bachata and Latin Hustle. She has been a dancer her entire life. She took her first ballet class at 3 yrs old, performed on stage by age 4, and choreographed at 7. At 12 years old, she became a member of The Philadelphia Ballet Theater and by 17 she was a Principal dancer. ? After having to retire from ballet due to injury, Sharonne found herself in the world of Ballroom, and more specifically, Latin Dance. She began performing for various talented instructors and choreographers and after a few years found herself a home with Art in Motion Latin Dancers. For over a decade, she traveled with the company both nationally and internationally. She has also had the privilege of dancing on stage with several major recording artists including Giselle Tavera, Leslie Grace, Luis Vargas and Toby Love. Sharonne earned her first World Championship title with the Art In Motion Ladies Team, led by Liz Becerra, who placed first in the world in the Ladies Team division at the 2014 World Salsa Summit. In 2015, she became World Bachata Classic Champion. That year she and her partner, Darlin Garcia, also placed 2nd in the Bachata Cabaret division and 1st in the Bachata Teams Division with Art in Motion Latin Dancers. Ronald is a multifaceted dancer, performer, choreographer and instructor. Ronald has been an influence in the DMV Salsa Scene, and his dance background includes Salsa, Bachata, Jazz, Hip-Hop & Modern. Ronald Rios has performed stage with Lil' Mo, Cece Peniston( at the Gay pride Festival 2004) in Penn ave & Amerie In 2005-2007 Ronald moved to L.A, to further pursue his goal as a dancer and choreographer. His experience in L.A. presented him with the opportunity o be one of the dancers in the shows "Descontrol" (Univision) and "The Drop" (Si TV). You may have seen Ronald in the short film "Mano(2010)" as a back-up dancer. Ronald also takes the opportunity to help high school students at the Montgomery Latin Dance competition. In 2012, Ronald choreographed and performed in the music video "Pretty Girl". He has also choreographed dozens of quinceneras (Sweet 15s). Ronald's has also recently been hired as instructor and choreographer to Garfield High School in Woodbridge V.A. for the Latin Dance Competition. also expending the latin culture in high schools. Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, I have been part of the Salsa scene since I was old enough to get into the clubs. Being of Puerto Rican descent I grew up listening to the legends like Hector Lavoe, Eddie Palmeri and Joe Arroyo.       DARLIN GARCIA Owner/Artistic Director/Instructor/ Choreographer/Company Team Director Darlin Garcia is the founder and artistic director of Art In Motion Dance & Fitness, and the Art In Motion Latin Dance Company. Born in the Dominican Republic, this energetic dancer, performer, and instructor has gained recognition as one of the top male salsa dancers in the Philadelphia/NJ area. With over twenty two years of experience, Darlin Garcia has taught and performed locally, nationally and internationally in countries like China, France, Panama, Ireland, Trinidad, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Japan, and the United Kingdom. Darlin is the 2023 World Bachata Champion, and the 2021 World Salsa Champion. He and his partner Keila Perez-Vega placed 1st in the world in their Salsa on1 division and 1st in the Bachata Classic Division. Darlin holds several W?orld Champion titles in the Competition since 2013 in several divisions including Bachata Teams, Cha Cha Cha, Bachata Classic and more. Some of his other accomplishments include 3rd place in the 2006 ESPN World Salsa Championship. He is also featured in the How Philly Moves project where his image is displayed, alongside other talented artists, in a mural located by the Philadelphia Airport. Over the course of his career, he has developed creative techniques as illustrated in his sizzling and up-tempo choreographies. ? Darlin's passion in life is to share his gift of dancing with people of all ages, levels and backgrounds. He believes that anyone with a willing attitude can learn how to dance, even if they claim to have two left feet. He recently moved his dance studio from Philadelphia to New Jersey, in hopes to serve the community and bring Latin Dance & Fitness to the South Jersey area.       Ronald is a multifaceted dancer, performer, choreographer and instructor. Ronald has been an influence in the DMV Salsa Scene, and his dance background includes Salsa, Bachata, Jazz, Hip-Hop & Modern. Ronald Rios has performed stage with Lil' Mo, Cece Peniston( at the Gay pride Festival 2004) in Penn ave & Amerie In 2005-2007 Ronald moved to L.A, to further pursue his goal as a dancer and choreographer. His experience in L.A. presented him with the opportunity o be one of the dancers in the shows "Descontrol" (Univision) and "The Drop" (Si TV). You may have seen Ronald in the short film "Mano(2010)" as a back-up dancer. Ronald also takes the opportunity to help high school students at the Montgomery Latin Dance competition. In 2012, Ronald choreographed and performed in the music video "Pretty Girl". He has also choreographed dozens of quinceneras (Sweet 15s). Ronald's has also recently been hired as instructor and choreographer to Garfield High School in Woodbridge V.A. for the Latin Dance Competition. also expending the latin culture in high schools. Ronald teaches Salsa On2 , Hip-Hop and Bachata in the Baltimore area as well.

        Alien (AH-lee-en) Ramirez, is a 24x Salsa and Latin Dance Champion. She is internationally recognized and admired for her ability to excel across multiple genres, having won world titles for Salsa Cabaret, Solo, Bachata and more. She is in demand all over the world as a Performer, Educator and Adjudicator. Alien was born in Bayamo, Cuba. She started dancing at the age of four and trained at EIA (Escuela de Instructores de Arte), where she developed her skills in Ballet, Contemporary, Jazz, Modern, Gymnastics, Flamenco, Cuban Folklore, Afro-Cuban, and other Latin styles. Not only is she a professionally trained dance performer, but Alien also holds a degree from EIA as a professional instructor. Alien’s success is not limited to winning World Dance Championships. She has also appeared as a dancer and/or choreographer for many videos, commercials, and TV shows, including “So You Think You Can Dance”. Her passion for dance generates admiration and raw emotion because of her unique style of flavour, elegance, and sensuality. Furthermore, dancing is her way of giving back to world, as shown through her yearly trips to Cuba to teach dance to underprivileged children from her hometown.

        Stephany Moore is a Latin Dancer born in Venezuela and raised in South Florida. At the age of six, Stephany took her first ballet class. After several years, Stephany traded in her ballet shoes for a camera. At the age of 14, she ventured into modeling and acting under the guidance of Barbizon Modeling and Acting school. Finally, at age 17 is when she discovered her passion for Latin Dance. Stephany learned her first salsa steps at Prestige Dance Company, where she stayed for seven years. Since then, she has traveled the world while training and competing in various countries such as Mexico, Italy, and the USA. Stephany has had the honor of performing with amazing artists such as Prince Royce, Shelia E, and Roberto Roena. She has also participated in the World Salsa Summit, winning first place alongside her mentor and dance coach, Melanie Castillo. Stephany is currently living in New York City, where she is advancing in her Salsa training and establishing herself as a New York dancer to keep an eye on! Angel Peguero is a Dominican Native, born in New York City, and raised in Philadelphia. Angel started off as a sport’s athlete, multi-talented in various sports, predominantly in boxing, basketball, and football. At the age of 18, Angel discovered his passion for Latin dance and never looked back. He began his training with 4x World Champion, Darlin Garcia, then also trained with 2x World Champion, Noel Rodriguez. Angel learned various styles of Latin dance, such as Salsa, Bachata, and Merengue. Angel has competed in the World Salsa Summit, where he won 3 World Champion titles. He has trained in various countries, including Italy, China, and Canada. While teaching in his workshops, Angel is known for his charisma and high energy, all while challenging his students with dynamic shine and intricate partner work. Today, Angel resides in New York City, where he continues to train and establish himself as a rising star in the New York Dance Scene!

        Norberto “Betto” Herrera, from Ecuador, migrated to New Jersey with his family in 1996 as a teenager. He started to train in Latin dance to feel in touch with his culture, an experience which inspired him to seek knowledge about the roots of Afro-Latin music and dances. Soon after joining the US Marines in 2000, Betto started teaching Afro-Latin dance classes at Camp Lejeune, NC and the Jacksonville USO. His desire to dance, led him to the Triangle Area, where he started teaching as well, and finally founded Mambo Dinamico Dance Company in 2002, and continued teaching lessons even after his discharge from Active duty in 2004. He now teaches at Carmen’s Cuban Cafe, in a partnership that has helped create a vibrant dance scene in the Triangle area. During his career, Betto had sought training and mentorship from some leaders in the dance and music industry, like Salsa instructor Ismael Otero, Afro-Cuban Masters Felix “Pupy” Insua (+) and Marisol Blanco, legendary Palladium Mambo Dancer Pedro Aguilar aka “Cuban Pete” (+) and Barbara Craddock (+), and Ethnomusicologist Prof. David Garcia from UNC-CH. Some highlights of his career include: Featured artist at national and international dance conferences. Appointed as judge of several regional and international competitions. Featured in many local and national publications. Appearances in local and international television. Sought as a subject for scholarly research by University professors and students because of his expertise in Afro-Latin dance and music. Coordinated collections of items needed for disaster relief like Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico and Ecuador’s Earthquake. Conducted lectures and presentations at schools, universities, corporations, national organizations and local governments about the influence of Latin music, dance and culture in the US.         Sharonne Vinokurov is the Founder/Artistic Director of Prima Dance Company and a World Champion with titles for Salsa, Bachata and Latin Hustle. She has been a dancer her entire life. She took her first ballet class at 3 yrs old, performed on stage by age 4, and choreographed at 7. At 12 years old, she became a member of The Philadelphia Ballet Theater and by 17 she was a Principal dancer. ? After having to retire from ballet due to injury, Sharonne found herself in the world of Ballroom, and more specifically, Latin Dance. She began performing for various talented instructors and choreographers and after a few years found herself a home with Art in Motion Latin Dancers. For over a decade, she traveled with the company both nationally and internationally. She has also had the privilege of dancing on stage with several major recording artists including Giselle Tavera, Leslie Grace, Luis Vargas and Toby Love. Sharonne earned her first World Championship title with the Art In Motion Ladies Team, led by Liz Becerra, who placed first in the world in the Ladies Team division at the 2014 World Salsa Summit. In 2015, she became World Bachata Classic Champion. That year she and her partner, Darlin Garcia, also placed 2nd in the Bachata Cabaret division and 1st in the Bachata Teams Division with Art in Motion Latin Dancers. In 2020, Sharonne reconnected with her former teacher, partner & friend Joe Figueroa and their partnership took off starting with their breathtaking project "Casablanca", creating content for the Living In Rhythm YouTube Channel. She also started Women of Dance, a weekly interview show featuring different female artists in the dance scene. ?

          Carlos Cinta "El Unico Bachatero", is a world renowned Caribbean/Dominican Bachata expert and educator! Carlos has taught at many international festivals and events around the world. His first YouTube video attracted over 8 million hits! Because of his carefree, lighthearted and fun attitude towards dancing, people are ultimately drawn to his Bachata style and his teaching methods. Carlos Cinta was born in San Francisco. He was raised in Chicago. Ronald has been an influence in the DMV Salsa Scene, and his dance background includes Salsa, Bachata, Jazz, Hip-Hop & Modern. Ronald Rios has performed stage with Lil' Mo, Cece Peniston( at the Gay pride Festival 2004) in Penn ave & Amerie In 2005-2007 Ronald moved to L.A, to further pursue his goal as a dancer and choreographer. His experience in L.A. presented him with the opportunity o be one of the dancers in the shows "Descontrol" (Univision) and "The Drop" (Si TV). You may have seen Ronald in the short film "Mano(2010)" as a back-up dancer. Ronald also takes the opportunity to help high school students at the Montgomery Latin Dance competition. In 2012, Ronald choreographed and performed in the music video "Pretty Girl". He has also choreographed dozens of quinceneras (Sweet 15s). Ronald's has also recently been hired as instructor and choreographer to Garfield High School in Woodbridge V.A. for the Latin Dance Competition. also expending the latin culture in high schools. Ronald teaches Salsa On2 , Hip-Hop and Bachata in the Baltimore area as well.

            Alien (AH-lee-en) Ramirez, is a 24x Salsa and Latin Dance Champion. She is internationally recognized and admired for her ability to excel across multiple genres, having won world titles for Salsa Cabaret, Solo, Bachata and more. She is in demand all over the world as a Performer, Educator and Adjudicator. Alien was born in Bayamo, Cuba. She started dancing at the age of four and trained at EIA (Escuela de Instructores de Arte), where she developed her skills in Ballet, Contemporary, Jazz, Modern, Gymnastics, Flamenco, Cuban Folklore, Afro-Cuban, and other Latin styles. Not only is she a professionally trained dance performer, but Alien also holds a degree from EIA as a professional instructor. Alien’s success is not limited to winning World Dance Championships. She has also appeared as a dancer and/or choreographer for many videos, commercials, and TV shows, including “So You Think You Can Dance”. Her passion for dance generates admiration and raw emotion because of her unique style of flavour, elegance, and sensuality. Furthermore, dancing is her way of giving back to world, as shown through her yearly trips to Cuba to teach dance to underprivileged children from her hometown.

            Stephany Moore is a Latin Dancer born in Venezuela and raised in South Florida. At the age of six, Stephany took her first ballet class. After several years, Stephany traded in her ballet shoes for a camera. At the age of 14, she ventured into modeling and acting under the guidance of Barbizon Modeling and Acting school. Finally, at age 17 is when she discovered her passion for Latin Dance. Stephany learned her first salsa steps at Prestige Dance Company, where she stayed for seven years. Since then, she has traveled the world while training and competing in various countries such as Mexico, Italy, and the USA. Stephany has had the honor of performing with amazing artists such as Prince Royce, Shelia E, and Roberto Roena. She has also participated in the World Salsa Summit, winning first place alongside her mentor and dance coach, Melanie Castillo. Stephany is currently living in New York City, where she is advancing in her Salsa training and establishing herself as a New York dancer to keep an eye on! Angel Peguero is a Dominican Native, born in New York City, and raised in Philadelphia. Angel started off as a sport’s athlete, multi-talented in various sports, predominantly in boxing, basketball, and football. At the age of 18, Angel discovered his passion for Latin dance and never looked back. He began his training with 4x World Champion, Darlin Garcia, then also trained with 2x World Champion, Noel Rodriguez. Angel learned various styles of Latin dance, such as Salsa, Bachata, and Merengue. Angel has competed in the World Salsa Summit, where he won 3 World Champion titles. He has trained in various countries, including Italy, China, and Canada. While teaching in his workshops, Angel is known for his charisma and high energy, all while challenging his students with dynamic shine and intricate partner work. Today, Angel resides in New York City, where he continues to train and establish himself as a rising star in the New York Dance Scene!

            Norberto “Betto” Herrera, from Ecuador, migrated to New Jersey with his family in 1996 as a teenager. He started to train in Latin dance to feel in touch with his culture, an experience which inspired him to seek knowledge about the roots of Afro-Latin music and dances. Soon after joining the US Marines in 2000, Betto started teaching Afro-Latin dance classes at Camp Lejeune, NC and the Jacksonville USO. His desire to dance, led him to the Triangle Area, where he started teaching as well, and finally founded Mambo Dinamico Dance Company in 2002, and continued teaching lessons even after his discharge from Active duty in 2004. He now teaches at Carmen’s Cuban Cafe, in a partnership that has helped create a vibrant dance scene in the Triangle area. During his career, Betto had sought training and mentorship from some leaders in the dance and music industry, like Salsa instructor Ismael Otero, Afro-Cuban Masters Felix “Pupy” Insua (+) and Marisol Blanco, legendary Palladium Mambo Dancer Pedro Aguilar aka “Cuban Pete” (+) and Barbara Craddock (+), and Ethnomusicologist Prof. David Garcia from UNC-CH. Some highlights of his career include: Featured artist at national and international dance conferences. Appointed as judge of several regional and international competitions. Featured in many local and national publications. Appearances in local and international television. Sought as a subject for scholarly research by University professors and students because of his expertise in Afro-Latin dance and music. Coordinated collections of items needed for disaster relief like Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico and Ecuador’s Earthquake. Conducted lectures and presentations at schools, universities, corporations, national organizations and local governments about the influence of Latin music, dance and culture in the US.             DARLIN GARCIA Owner/Artistic Director/Instructor/ Choreographer/Company Team Director Darlin Garcia is the founder and artistic director of Art In Motion Dance & Fitness, and the Art In Motion Latin Dance Company. Born in the Dominican Republic, this energetic dancer, performer, and instructor has gained recognition as one of the top male salsa dancers in the Philadelphia/NJ area. With over twenty two years of experience, Darlin Garcia has taught and performed locally, nationally and internationally in countries like China, France, Panama, Ireland, Trinidad, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Japan, and the United Kingdom. Darlin is the 2023 World Bachata Champion, and the 2021 World Salsa Champion. He and his partner Keila Perez-Vega placed 1st in the world in their Salsa on1 division and 1st in the Bachata Classic Division. Darlin holds several W?orld Champion titles in the Competition since 2013 in several divisions including Bachata Teams, Cha Cha Cha, Bachata Classic and more. Some of his other accomplishments include 3rd place in the 2006 ESPN World Salsa Championship. He is also featured in the How Philly Moves project where his image is displayed, alongside other talented artists, in a mural located by the Philadelphia Airport. Over the course of his career, he has developed creative techniques as illustrated in his sizzling and up-tempo choreographies. ? Darlin's passion in life is to share his gift of dancing with people of all ages, levels and backgrounds. He believes that anyone with a willing attitude can learn how to dance, even if they claim to have two left feet.             Carlos Cinta "El Unico Bachatero", is a world renowned Caribbean/Dominican Bachata expert and educator! Carlos has taught at many international festivals and events around the world. Because of his carefree, lighthearted and fun attitude towards dancing, people are ultimately drawn to his Bachata style and his teaching methods. Known for his unique Teaching ability and "Bachata Musicality" Music Course. Sharing his passion of Dominican Style Bachata to sold-out workshops at festivals all over the world. Carlos Cinta was born in San Francisco. He was raised in Chicago. Although Carlos' first experiences of Bachata were not particularly pleasing, it was only after attending a club in Chicago and seeing Bachata danced with sensuality, passion and sexy moves that he truly fell in love with it.             Sharonne Vinokurov is the Founder/Artistic Director of Prima Dance Company and a World Champion with titles for Salsa, Bachata and Latin Hustle. She has been a dancer her entire life. She took her first ballet class at 3 yrs old, performed on stage by age 4, and choreographed at 7. At 12 years old, she became a member of The Philadelphia Ballet Theater and by 17 she was a Principal dancer. ? After having to retire from ballet due to injury, Sharonne found herself in the world of Ballroom, and more specifically, Latin Dance. She began performing for various talented instructors and choreographers and after a few years found herself a home with Art in Motion Latin Dancers. For over a decade, she traveled with the company both nationally and internationally. She has also had the privilege of dancing on stage with several major recording artists including Giselle Tavera, Leslie Grace, Luis Vargas and Toby Love. Sharonne earned her first World Championship title with the Art In Motion Ladies Team, led by Liz Becerra, who placed first in the world in the Ladies Team division at the 2014 World Salsa Summit. In 2015, she became World Bachata Classic Champion. That year she and her partner, Darlin Garcia, also placed 2nd in the Bachata Cabaret division and 1st in the Bachata Teams Division with Art in Motion Latin Dancers. In 2020, Sharonne reconnected with her former teacher, partner & friend Joe Figueroa and their partnership took off starting with their breathtaking project "Casablanca", creating content for the Living In Rhythm YouTube Channel. She is internationally recognized and admired for her ability to excel across multiple genres, having won world titles for Salsa Cabaret, Solo, Bachata and more. She is in demand all over the world as a Performer, Educator and Adjudicator. Alien was born in Bayamo, Cuba. She started dancing at the age of four and trained at EIA (Escuela de Instructores de Arte), where she developed her skills in Ballet, Contemporary, Jazz, Modern, Gymnastics, Flamenco, Cuban Folklore, Afro-Cuban, and other Latin styles. Not only is she a professionally trained dance performer, but Alien also holds a degree from EIA as a professional instructor. Alien’s success is not limited to winning World Dance Championships. She has also appeared as a dancer and/or choreographer for many videos, commercials, and TV shows, including “So You Think You Can Dance”. Her passion for dance generates admiration and raw emotion because of her unique style of flavour, elegance, and sensuality. Furthermore, dancing is her way of giving back to world, as shown through her yearly trips to Cuba to teach dance to underprivileged children from her hometown.

                Stephany Moore is a Latin Dancer born in Venezuela and raised in South Florida. At the age of six, Stephany took her first ballet class. After several years, Stephany traded in her ballet shoes for a camera. At the age of 14, she ventured into modeling and acting under the guidance of Barbizon Modeling and Acting school. Finally, at age 17 is when she discovered her passion for Latin Dance. Stephany learned her first salsa steps at Prestige Dance Company, where she stayed for seven years. Since then, she has traveled the world while training and competing in various countries such as Mexico, Italy, and the USA. Stephany has had the honor of performing with amazing artists such as Prince Royce, Shelia E, and Roberto Roena. She has also participated in the World Salsa Summit, winning first place alongside her mentor and dance coach, Melanie Castillo. Stephany is currently living in New York City, where she is advancing in her Salsa training and establishing herself as a New York dancer to keep an eye on! Angel Peguero is a Dominican Native, born in New York City, and raised in Philadelphia. Angel started off as a sport’s athlete, multi-talented in various sports, predominantly in boxing, basketball, and football. At the age of 18, Angel discovered his passion for Latin dance and never looked back. He began his training with 4x World Champion, Darlin Garcia, then also trained with 2x World Champion, Noel Rodriguez. Angel learned various styles of Latin dance, such as Salsa, Bachata, and Merengue. Angel has competed in the World Salsa Summit, where he won 3 World Champion titles. He has trained in various countries, including Italy, China, and Canada. While teaching in his workshops, Angel is known for his charisma and high energy, all while challenging his students with dynamic shine and intricate partner work.                 Norberto “Betto” Herrera, from Ecuador, migrated to New Jersey with his family in 1996 as a teenager. He started to train in Latin dance to feel in touch with his culture, an experience which inspired him to seek knowledge about the roots of Afro-Latin music and dances. Soon after joining the US Marines in 2000, Betto started teaching Afro-Latin dance classes at Camp Lejeune, NC and the Jacksonville USO. His desire to dance, led him to the Triangle Area, where he started teaching as well, and finally founded Mambo Dinamico Dance Company in 2002, and continued teaching lessons even after his discharge from Active duty in 2004. He now teaches at Carmen’s Cuban Cafe, in a partnership that has helped create a vibrant dance scene in the Triangle area. During his career, Betto had sought training and mentorship from some leaders in the dance and music industry, like Salsa instructor Ismael Otero, Afro-Cuban Masters Felix “Pupy” Insua (+) and Marisol Blanco, legendary Palladium Mambo Dancer Pedro Aguilar aka “Cuban Pete” (+) and Barbara Craddock (+), and Ethnomusicologist Prof. David Garcia from UNC-CH. Some highlights of his career include: Featured artist at national and international dance conferences. Appointed as judge of several regional and international competitions. Featured in many local and national publications. Appearances in local and international television. Sought as a subject for scholarly research by University professors and students because of his expertise in Afro-Latin dance and music. Coordinated collections of items needed for disaster relief like Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico and Ecuador’s Earthquake. Conducted lectures and presentations at schools, universities, corporations, national organizations and local governments about the influence of Latin music, dance and culture in the US.                 DARLIN GARCIA Owner/Artistic Director/Instructor/ Choreographer/Company Team Director Darlin Garcia is the founder and artistic director of Art In Motion Dance & Fitness, and the Art In Motion Latin Dance Company. Born in the Dominican Republic, this energetic dancer, performer, and instructor has gained recognition as one of the top male salsa dancers in the Philadelphia/NJ area. With over twenty two years of experience, Darlin Garcia has taught and performed locally, nationally and internationally in countries like China, France, Panama, Ireland, Trinidad, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Japan, and the United Kingdom. Darlin is the 2023 World Bachata Champion, and the 2021 World Salsa Champion. He and his partner Keila Perez-Vega placed 1st in the world in their Salsa on1 division and 1st in the Bachata Classic Division. Darlin holds several W?orld Champion titles in the Competition since 2013 in several divisions including Bachata Teams, Cha Cha Cha, Bachata Classic and more. Some of his other accomplishments include 3rd place in the 2006 ESPN World Salsa Championship. He is also featured in the How Philly Moves project where his image is displayed, alongside other talented artists, in a mural located by the Philadelphia Airport. Over the course of his career, he has developed creative techniques as illustrated in his sizzling and up-tempo choreographies. ? Darlin's passion in life is to share his gift of dancing with people of all ages, levels and backgrounds. He believes that anyone with a willing attitude can learn how to dance, even if they claim to have two left feet.                 Carlos Cinta "El Unico Bachatero", is a world renowned Caribbean/Dominican Bachata expert and educator! Carlos has taught at many international festivals and events around the world. His first YouTube video attracted over 8 million hits! Because of his carefree, lighthearted and fun attitude towards dancing, people are ultimately drawn to his Bachata style and his teaching methods. Known for his unique Teaching ability and "Bachata Musicality" Music Course. Sharing his passion of Dominican Style Bachata to sold-out workshops at festivals all over the world. Carlos Cinta was born in San Francisco. He was raised in Chicago. Although Carlos' first experiences of Bachata were not particularly pleasing, it was only after attending a club in Chicago and seeing Bachata danced with sensuality, passion and sexy moves that he truly fell in love with it.                 Sharonne Vinokurov is the Founder/Artistic Director of Prima Dance Company and a World Champion with titles for Salsa, Bachata and Latin Hustle. She has been a dancer her entire life. She took her first ballet class at 3 yrs old, performed on stage by age 4, and choreographed at 7. At 12 years old, she became a member of The Philadelphia Ballet Theater and by 17 she was a Principal dancer. ? After having to retire from ballet due to injury, Sharonne found herself in the world of Ballroom, and more specifically, Latin Dance. She began performing for various talented instructors and choreographers and after a few years found herself a home with Art in Motion Latin Dancers. For over a decade, she traveled with the company both nationally and internationally. She has also had the privilege of dancing on stage with several major recording artists including Giselle Tavera, Leslie Grace, Luis Vargas and Toby Love. Sharonne earned her first World Championship title with the Art In Motion Ladies Team, led by Liz Becerra, who placed first in the world in the Ladies Team division at the 2014 World Salsa Summit. In 2015, she became World Bachata Classic Champion. That year she and her partner, Darlin Garcia, also placed 2nd in the Bachata Cabaret division and 1st in the Bachata Teams Division with Art in Motion Latin Dancers. In 2020, Sharonne reconnected with her former teacher, partner & friend Joe Figueroa and their partnership took off starting with their breathtaking project "Casablanca", creating content for the Living In Rhythm YouTube Channel. She also started Women of Dance, a weekly interview show featuring different female artists in the dance scene. ?

Ronald has been an influence in the DMV Salsa Scene, and his dance background includes Salsa, Bachata, Jazz, Hip-Hop & Modern. Ronald Rios has performed stage with Lil' Mo, Cece Peniston( at the Gay pride Festival 2004) in Penn ave & Amerie In 2005-2007 Ronald moved to L.A, to further pursue his goal as a dancer and choreographer. His experience in L.A. presented him with the opportunity o be one of the dancers in the shows "Descontrol" (Univision) and "The Drop" (Si TV). You may have seen Ronald in the short film "Mano(2010)" as a back-up dancer. Ronald also takes the opportunity to help high school students at the Montgomery Latin Dance competition. In 2012, Ronald choreographed and performed in the music video "Pretty Girl". He has also choreographed dozens of quinceneras (Sweet 15s). Ronald's has also recently been hired as instructor and choreographer to Garfield High School in Woodbridge V.A. for the Latin Dance Competition. also expending the latin culture in high schools. Ronald teaches Salsa On2 , Hip-Hop and Bachata in the Baltimore area as well.
