Tight calves. Tight hip flexors. Weak glutes. Collapsed arches. We all know how important the tissues of the legs are for the health of the entire body, and we all know that these common problems are tough to fix. How many times have you stretched someone's tight calves or tight hip flexors or tight hamstrings only to have them tighten up again? With how many people have you struggled to get their glutes firing only to start the struggle all over again the next time? These are the frustrations that Balancing the Legs helps to solve. It's about the common aches, pains, and limitations that we all find in the legs, and it's about how to resolve these imbalances in a more permanent way. As part of CBA’s Regional Series, which covers the details of each region of the body, this class covers the details of the legs: the feet, ankles, shins, knees, thighs, hips, and pelvis. We'll learn to assess these tissues and to balance the imbalances that we find using exercise therapies and hands-on manual therapy techniques. This class is open to everyone because this material, even for highly experienced therapists and personal trainers, will be new and challenging. I don't teach what you already know - what would be the point in that? For example, do you even assess the transverse arch of the foot, which is the most important key to balancing the feet and legs? Most bodyworkers and trainers don't even remember that the transverse arch exists, focusing entirely on the longitudinal arch instead. The transverse arch is a missing key in your work with the body. New material, new tools, new ways to approach working with the tissues of the legs: that's what you'll get from this class.
