This workshop is a beginning & advanced verification course and beginning social media & individual-focused research, taking place September 16 - 18, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM CET, covering the following topics:

 

Beginning & advanced verification course

  • Introduction to open source research
  • Verification of user-generated materials
  • Web search techniques for digital investigations
  • Reverse image search techniques in digital investigations
  • Geolocation of visual materials
  • Chronolocation of visual materials
  • Using mapping and satellite services in investigations

Beginning social media & individual-focused research course

  • Intro and practice with investigating individuals and groups
  • Intro to social network-specific research (4chan/8chan, TikTok, Twitter, etc.)
  • Investigating extremist organizations online

Cancellation policy

- You will be registered as a participant only after we have received full payment of the workshop fee;

- If you cancel your registration up to one week before the start of the workshop, you will be refunded the total workshop fee, minus EUR 25 / USD 30 (administrative costs);

- If you cancel within six to two days before the start of the workshop, you will be reimbursed 50% of the workshop fee. If we are able to replace you with a waiting list candidate, then the total fee (minus Eur 25 / USD 30 administrative costs) will be refunded.
