An evening of ritual, honouring, sharing and singing, with Deborah Treger and Rufus Glassco
"Humankind has not woven the web of life. We are but one thread within it. Whatever we do to the web, we do to ourselves. All things are bound together. All things connect." - Chief Seattle, 1854
We are delighted to invite you to an evening dedicated to water, the source of all life on this planet. Our mother earth, the mother we share will all living creatures, is like us - 70 percent of the earth’s surface is covered by water. 70 percent of our body is composed of water.
How important to you is water? How often do you think about the water you drink? How often do you thank the water you drink, or ingest it with mindfulness, love and gratitude?
Does water have memory? If it does, what does that mean to us?
This evening of ceremony will have several components. One is to raise our consciousness about water, to discuss why it is important to care about protecting water, and how we can improve our health and wellness with a better understanding of water. We will also be conducting water rituals, to honour water’s sacredness, throughout time, and across many cultures. We will also bless water, cleanse ourselves with water in guided meditation, and honour water through song and intention.
We will also be offering healthy alkaline water, as well as crystal clean hard water from the Oak Ridges Moraine aquifer, in glass bottles, or people can bring their own bottles to refill.
Come to learn, to share, to drink, to bless, and to return home fully hydrated and flush with new knowledge and tools to empower you to live healthier, to educate others, and develop a more sacred relationship with this precious resource. We are what we drink. Drink well!
This event is family friendly, and because it is a ceremony, we ask that people refrain from consuming alcohol or recreational drugs.
Deborah Treger is a practicing Psycho-Spiritual Practitioner who specializes in mindfulness, meditation and sound healing. She is also a new age musician who recently released her CD 'Love is All'. Her music has been described as 'spiritually uplifting'. Deborah has performed in the GTA in events including the Toronto Yoga Conference and Inspiring Minds Canada.
Rufus Glassco is a drum circle facilitator who specializes in drumming for health and wellness. He has been studying modern shamanic practices and shamanic coaching for the past 4 years through the Institute of Shamanic Medicine. He’s also been learning from curanderos and chamanes for even longer in Mexico, where his wife Dinora is from. He believes that everyone, regardless of bloodline or ethnic origin, can access the knowledge and practice of Shamanism, because it connects us to our ancestors, all of whom at one point lived in greater harmony with the natural world, and were able to better communicate with, and benefit from the connection to, the natural and spirit worlds.
