Join your fellow SHM Chapter Leaders for an in-person training taking place on Advanced Learning Course Day at Converge 2024, April 12th from 1-4 pm at the San Diego Convention Center.The in-person training is organized annually by the Chapter Support Committee (comprised of the 12 District Chairs) and SHM Staff. No matter your tenure as a Chapter Leader (seasoned to brand new), we encourage you to attend the training to share best practices, hear inspiring stories that generate new ideas, and establish new connections with other leaders from around the country. Please note that this year, we will be conducting the annual review of SHM policy and procedures defined in the Chapter Handbook in a virtual capacity which will take place BEFORE the in-person training at Converge (date/time TBD). We will conduct separate trainings for both seasoned and newly onboarded Chapter Leaders.

No. There is no registration fee to attend the Chapter Leader Training at Converge.
No. Unfortunately, the training will be held only in person in San Diego with no virtual option to attend. If you cannot attend in person, please look out for other virtual training opportunities to be held later this year.
Yes, all presentations from the training will be shared in the HMX Chapter Leader Community for everyone to access.
Yes! All incoming Chapter Leaders should first attend the virtual Onboarding Training prior to Converge to obtain a general understanding of Chapter guidelines and procedures. Incoming Chapter Leaders should also attend the in-person training to learn more and establish new connections.
Yes! New topics and ideas are shared every year and there is only the opportunity for your knowledge to grow and new connections to be made. If you feel you have a great experience to share with others, please reach out to SHM Staff or your District Chair. We'd love to hear more.
