Join us for this two part class designed specifically for parents who have given birth before, and are looking for a review, a bit of preparation, and some ideas on how to talk to their older child/ren about the new baby.
In the first session (Saturday 8/23, 2:30-5:30pm) we'll meet with just adults, to focus on reviewing what to expect from labor, exploring what worked and didn't work last time, how they'd like to approach this birth, and generally making time to think about this upcoming birth and baby.
In the second session on the following morning (Sunday 8/24, 10-11:30am) we'll re-gather, this time with all the siblings present. We will share some group discussion on what they can expect during labor/postpartum (gentle videos, stories, pictures of placentas, etc.), and spend some time talking about (and practicing with their baby dolls) around what they can expect from their new little sibling.
Each family is asked to bring a doll or stuffed animal, plus any accoutrement they expect to use a lot like breastfeeding pillows, baby blankets, diapers, etc. to the second half of the class.
