Children’s Group

A skill building group, including problem-solving, social  interaction, and communication.  The goal is to develop each child’s emotional intelligence—such as perseverance, self-control, responsibility,caring—which will help them handle their emotions and the daily challenges they may face.

The group activities will enhance individuals’ ability to understand and regulate their own emotions and to consider and empathize with how others are feeling.  This includes—Recognizing emotions in oneself and others; Understanding the causes and consequences of emotions; Labeling the full range of emotions using a richvocabulary; Expressing emotions appropriately in different contexts; Regulating emotions effectively to foster healthy relationships andachieve goals.

Ages: 7 to 9 and 10 to 12 years old

6 week class (November 5, 12, 19. December 3, 10, 17)
