Color Management Fundamentals:

 

During Color Management Fundamentals our EFI trainers provide trainees with the knowledge and skills required to Implement and Manage Color based on Color Configuration, Resolution, Print Modes/Pass Count, and Media. Our trainers share their experience and best practices for efficient printer production with the operators to give them the benefit of their years of experience. 

The Color Management Fundamentals program is focused on the following main subjects:

 

  • Understanding the Principles of Color and defining Color Management, Color Space vs Machine Gamut, Measuring Color Accuracy & Delta E, Device Dependent and Independent Color, Rendering Intent & Black Point Compensation (BPC), Color Transformations, Calibration and Profiling of the printer, Black Generation and GCR, Spot Color Matching, Standards & Specifications, Measuring Methods & Viewing Conditions, getting from Prepress to the Printer – Saving PDFs for Processing and Fiery XF Recommended Color Management Settings
  • An in-depth overview, question, and answer session on Fiery XF v7.x, Generic configuration of Fiery XF Workflow and Media, Implementation of Fiery XF Color Management Settings, Baseline printing of target file prior to Color Calibration and Profiling, A historic review of Color Management and Calibration from EFI – Fiery XF, Calibration and Profiling including – Advanced Calibration Wizard Configuration, Ink Limiting and Calibration of the printer, Setting Total Ink Limits, Optional Steps of Gray Balance and Quality Control, Summary of the Calibration procedure, Creation of a Media Profile based on the Calibration, Gamut Mapping & Processing options
  • White Ink (purpose and recommended path of White Ink Calibration & Optional White Ink Calibrations), Spot Color Exercise (utilizing of and printing Pantone Color Libraries, Matching Corporate Branded Colors via printing exercises, and Final Course Review Q&A

Dress Code: Trainees are to wear pants or garment that fully covers legs and close-toe shoes. Safety PPE will be provided.

Meals: Lunch will be provided each day of training.
