Statistically, around 70% of defensive shootings happen between arms reach and 10ft. The Close-Quarters Firearms Integration Tactics program (CQ-FIT) focuses on surviving lethal force encounters within these extremely close ranges, to include firearms and edged-weapon based assaults. To increase the probability of survival at these ranges, we train a full integration of empty-hand fighting, firearms, edged and impact weaponry.
This 2-Day CQ-FIT seminar is an outdoor event at the Red Dawn Armory, and the focus will encompass movement, various shooting platforms, and exploiting angles which can apply to concealed firearms permit holders, law enforcement, executive protection and military personnel. Day 1 will be a NON-Live Fire training day to hone and refine CQ-FIT Tactics and Day 2 will be build off of Day 1 as it segways into live fire dynamic drills.
Participants in this course must be current LE/Mil or credentialed security professionals and civilians.
All course participants will require the following for this OUTDOOR event:
- Training t-shirt / top, 5.11 or BDU cargo pants; appropriate to weather conditions
- Loadout kit
- Blue training gun or SIRT training pistol
- Pistol, minimum 3 magazines, holster
- Minimum 300rds
- Range protection (eyes/ears)
- Personal training knife; or one may be provided by the Host
- All participants are responsible for their own meals, snacks and hydration

Brief Background
Over the past two decades, the TRICOM system has become an integral part of various law enforcement departments, military organizations, and executive protection agencies on a global scale. TRICOM has been adopted and accepted by some of the world's most elite police military organizations, and is accredited on its own merits.
The TRICOM modules (Tri-Angle Combatives) are the result of 35 years of martial arts experience with 18 years of experience teaching police and miltary defensive tactics and combatives programs.
The primary instructor for this course, Jared Wihongi is a world-renown Close Quarter Combat Instructor. He is a student of multiple martial arts and combative systems but specializes in the baton and blade-based combat arts of the Philippines. He has 20 years of experience in law enforcement and 17 years serving on SWAT Teams and as a Use of Force Instructor within that duration.
