Who:  Any Secondary Science Teacher

What:  An asynchronous book study - via Canvas - on the book Designing Effective Science Instruction by Anne Tweed

When:  Deadline to register is 1/14/2022.  Book Study will begin on 1/21/22 and end on 3/28/22

Where:  Canvas...once you have registered, you will recieve an invite to the Canvas course and a copy of the book.  The work is asynchronous - meaning that all work is through Canvas.  The course is divided into 10 modules.  Each module will contain required reading and at least one required task to receive "credit".  If you complete all tasks, you will be eligible to purchase 2.0 CEUs.

Why:  This book study will help us reflect on what is working well with our current approach to designing lessons and provides recommendations for improving existing lessons or creating effective new ones.  We'll explore the characteristics of high quality science lessons and learn strategies we can put into practice today!

* Because each module will require various activities: reading, responses to discussion boards, videos, etc., this book study is worth 2.0 CEUs.  Upon the successful completion of the book study, you will recieve information on how to purchase CEUs.
