Tim brings a keen eye for detail to BAO. He has 15 years' professional experience burying his nose in Excel sheets, Access databases, aggregate collection forms, cloud infrastructure, and ETL software of many stripes. Since joining BAO he has worked on myriad DHIS 2 implementations for many different countries, provided onsite training, and is currently a senior engineering manager on the PEPFAR project. He spends his time managing the development of both the primary data collection system (DATIM) and the data validation and processing infrastructure (PDAP). Additionally, he is a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer from Vanuatu, where he spent more than three years providing IT education to the young and old alike. During his service, he worked with the WHO and Ministry of Health as they transitioned their HIS systems from Access to DHIS2. Training end users both in the capital and on remote islands, he was an essential part of growing the HIS competency of the MoH staff. Before his service in the Peace Corps, Tim worked as an ETL specialist for an insurance company, playing a vital role in bringing new business through automated, secure data exchange. He speaks English and Bislama and holds a BS in Business Administration from Oregon State University.

Her work focuses on strengthening primary healthcare services in low-income settings through strengthening community health systems and leveraging innovative technological solutions. This includes the development of point-of-care digital clinical decision support tools used by community health workers and other health care providers, patient-focused health behavior change interventions, and conversational agents (“chatbots”) that use natural language processing to communicate with users. Sara Jacenko, MPH, is a health scientist within the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Global Health Center, Global Immunization Division, Strategic Information and Workforce Development Branch. Sara’s global and domestic public health expertise includes monitoring, evaluation, and program management. It spans various technical areas such as immunization, health systems strengthening, HIV/AIDS, and nutrition and physical activity. Sara is currently a senior evaluator for the Strategic Information team and designs and applies innovative and culturally and contextually appropriate mixed methods evaluation and research approaches. She has led global and national evaluations to learn about different aspects of immunization information systems implementation, data quality and use, and governance and sustainability. Sara has also led and supported monitoring and evaluation activities within the CDC’s Divisions of Global HIV/AIDS and Global Health Protection. He heads Ghana’s Immunization program, having previously served as a Medical Officer, Clinical Research Officer, District Director of Health Service, Vaccine Safety & New Vaccine Coordinator. In 2012, he coordinated the simultaneous introduction of rotavirus and pneumococcal vaccines into Ghana’s Routine Immunization. He has helped to train many Public Health Specialists at the Ghana College of Physicians & Surgeons, where he was appointed Training Coordinator in 2015. His focus is on immunization, vaccine safety, public health surveillance and emergency response and has led several disease outbreak investigations and response activities in Ghana. He graduated BSc., MBChB from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science & Technology and holds an MPH (Ghana) and a Diploma in Health Systems Management (Galilee International Management Institute, Israel). In 2015, Kwame spent time at Yale, Connecticut, as a Post Graduate Associate in the Department of Pediatrics, where he completed the 2015 Research Fellowship Program. In her current role, Zaena supports the management of all program data and reporting, and has played a key part in supporting the development of and transition to USAID’s new Neglected Tropical Diseases Information System (NIS), which utilizes DHIS2. Prior to her work with RTI, Zaena worked primarily with local health systems in the Washington, D.C. area, focusing on health promotion and chronic disease prevention among low-income communities, before receiving her MPH in Global Epidemiology from Emory University’s Rollins School of Public Health. She then went on to work with the CDC Division of Global HIV and TB’s Epidemiology and Surveillance branch, supporting countries in East Africa and the Caribbean nearing HIV epidemic control with the implementation of HIV Recency surveillance and promoting recency data use for public health response. Samuel Rwunganira, an expert in epidemiology and data management, earned a master's degree in Epidemiology and completed the Field Epidemiology Training Program (FETP) at the University of Rwanda. In 2021, he became the Coordinator for the DHIS2 Data Triangulation Project in Rwanda, focusing on harmonizing data sources for Vaccine-Preventable Disease surveillance. Samuel's leadership led to an advanced dashboard automating monitoring and decision-making. Before this role, he served as a Field Coordinator, guiding FETP students. From 2012 to 2021, he was a Non-Communicable Diseases Epidemiologist and Research Assistant at the Rwanda Biomedical Centre, contributing to program strategies and co-authoring articles. Samuel played a crucial role in the Covid-19 Task Force, managing a data team for pandemic response. His commitment to public health and data-driven decision-making has significantly impacted disease surveillance and epidemiological research in Rwanda.

She has more than 10 years of experience in information technology, supply chain management and project management in both the public and private sectors. Over the past few years, Marie has collaborated with NGOs such as Gavi, UNICEF, Africa Resource Center (ARC) and Aspen Institute supporting Ministries of Health in Senegal, Mauritania, Sierra Leone, South Sudan and Cameroon. As part of these collaborations, she has worked in the management and optimization of the vaccine supply chain through Logistics Management Information Systems (LMIS), the evaluation of public health information systems and capacity building for Ministries team. Marie started her career in the public sector before moving to the private sector and joining Air Liquide where she held various positions within the West Africa Area. Prior to joining TFGH, Jesse worked at RTI International, where he was responsible for routine reporting to USAID for the Act to End NTDs | East program and previously the ENVISION project. Jesse has applied his SAS expertise to analyze data from NTD MERLA activities conducted in over 20 USAID-supported countries, in order to facilitate accurate reporting and data use by multiple stakeholders. Prior to supporting USAID-funded NTD MERLA, Jesse worked as a statistician for other projects at RTI International. Prior to RTI International, Jesse worked as a statistician for the contract research organization, Social and Scientific Systems, focusing on toxicology studies.     Kaustubh Wagh is currently serving as the Technical Advisor for Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) at FHI 360 for the USAID's Act to End NTDs | West Program, which supports neglected tropical disease (NTD) elimination and control in 11 West African nations. He is an integral part of a diverse, multi-organizational team actively engaged in the development of the Neglected Tropical Diseases Information System (NIS), a critical initiative by USAID for improving NTD’s data use. He is a physician from India with over a decade of experience, focusing on various aspects of public health, epidemiology, and data management. Before embarking on his journey with FHI 360, he contributed his expertise as an Evaluation Specialist, to esteemed institutions such as the CDC and Jhpiego, an affiliate of Johns Hopkins University. He is committed to public health and evaluation to make a meaningful impact on global health initiatives. In his free time, Kaustubh can be found in national parks taking photographs.

    Zaena joined RTI in August, 2022, and currently serves as the MERLA Analytics Manager for USAID’s Act to End NTDs East Program, which supports NTD control and elimination goals in 13 countries in Africa, the Americas, and Asia. In her current role, Zaena supports the management of all program data and reporting, and has played a key part in supporting the development of and transition to USAID’s new Neglected Tropical Diseases Information System (NIS), which utilizes DHIS2. Prior to her work with RTI, Zaena worked primarily with local health systems in the Washington, D.C. area, focusing on health promotion and chronic disease prevention among low-income communities, before receiving her MPH in Global Epidemiology from Emory University’s Rollins School of Public Health. She then went on to work with the CDC Division of Global HIV and TB’s Epidemiology and Surveillance branch, supporting countries in East Africa and the Caribbean nearing HIV epidemic control with the implementation of HIV Recency surveillance and promoting recency data use for public health response. Zaena has a passion for improving data use and efficiency to promote informed and effective data-driven decision making and public health interventions in the global health space. Outside of work, Zaena loves spending quality time with her two rambunctious dogs, exploring the outdoors, and checking out the food scene wherever she is.

    Blake is a part-time Doctorate of Public Health student at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, with research interest in organizational culture, data-use, and applying big data to public health problems, with a particular focus on DREAMS and HIV/AIDS. Blake is also an experienced senior project lead at BAO Systems, with comprehensive technical and managerial skills across all phases of system implementation, including: requirements discovery, system architecting, timeline and budget management, DHIS2 customisation, deployment and training. Blake is originally from Auckland, NZ but is now resident in Cambridge, UK. Trained as a health information scientist, he brings the most inventive programs and solutions merging health data science, information system design, and responsible AI to his Federal clients. Before joining Accenture, he served as Managing Director of the University of Maryland’s Center for Health Information & Decision Systems (CHIDS), in charge of a broad portfolio of research programs and partnerships that created ground-breaking products and scientific findings, and continues to serve as faculty at the Robert H. Smith School of Business. He has envisioned, built, and evaluated digital health products from concept to clinical trial to market and to next generation. Partners have included multiple federal agencies, early-stage ventures to Fortune 500 companies, and health delivery organizations. Dr. Crowley’s work has been presented at major industry and academic conferences across the globe and his teams have won key national health informatics design challenges. He has served as a scientific reviewer for the National Science Foundation and the National Institutes of Health, an advisor on data innovation to the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services, and as a Health XPrize mentor.       Dr. Agarwal is the Director of the Center for Global Digital Health Innovation and an Associate Professor in the Department of International Health at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Her work focuses on strengthening primary healthcare services in low-income settings through strengthening community health systems and leveraging innovative technological solutions. This includes the development of point-of-care digital clinical decision support tools used by community health workers and other health care providers, patient-focused health behavior change interventions, and conversational agents (“chatbots”) that use natural language processing to communicate with users. She has developed methods for evaluating such digital programs and led a series of systematic reviews on the effectiveness of digital interventions that have been leveraged by the WHO to develop global guidelines on the use of digital tools to strengthen health services. She continues to work with bilateral and multilateral agencies to support the development and implementation of routine digital health information systems.

He has supported numerous emergency health operations through the deployment of emergency field hospitals and worked on digitization projects to improve preparedness and response procedures in the Norwegian Red Cross. Since 2021, he has held the position as LMIS Tech Lead at the HISP-Centre at the University of Oslo, coordinating with multiple stakeholders to develop and promote the use of DHIS2 for last mile logistics management.

Dr. Mancuso has a long career focused on data science, advanced analytics, artificial intelligence, digital health innovation, applied research, and health systems strengthening. Prior to joining Accenture Federal Services, she served as the Director of Research and Analytics for the Connect2Health Task Force at the Federal Communications Commission - a senior-level, multi-disciplinary Task Force designed to move the needle on broadband and advanced health care technologies in the United States. In this role, she supported the Task Force to conduct novel research, analytics, and visualizations on the role of broadband connectivity in health to inform federal policies and programs. Before that, she led a portfolio of global initiatives on applied research to strengthen health systems and implementation at the Alliance for Health Policy and Systems Research at the World Health Organization. She also worked at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health on several studies to design, introduce, and scale digital health solutions in countries around the world. Finally, she worked on health information systems, monitoring, and evaluation for a large health system strengthening project in Rwanda, where she also served as a Peace Corps Volunteer doing health promotion activities in a small village. She received both her doctorate and master’s degrees from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.

For the past year, he has supported the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) by providing financial analytics expertise in monitoring program results, identifying efficiencies, and translating integrated analyses of expenditure and epidemiological data into usable information for internal stakeholders. In other roles with Accenture, John has served as a project manager supporting the implementation of a military health plan, with a focus on data analytics, IT security and infrastructure, and data governance. He also led the maintenance and enhancement of a suite of public-facing analytical dashboards and dossiers for a large Federal agency.                                                 Sara Jacenko, MPH, is a health scientist within the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Global Health Center, Global Immunization Division, Strategic Information and Workforce Development Branch. Sara’s global and domestic public health expertise includes monitoring, evaluation, and program management. It spans various technical areas such as immunization, health systems strengthening, HIV/AIDS, and nutrition and physical activity. Sara is currently a senior evaluator for the Strategic Information team and designs and applies innovative and culturally and contextually appropriate mixed methods evaluation and research approaches. She has led global and national evaluations to learn about different aspects of immunization information systems implementation, data quality and use, and governance and sustainability. Sara has also led and supported monitoring and evaluation activities within the CDC’s Divisions of Global HIV/AIDS and Global Health Protection. Her work at CDC has spanned the African region and Southeast Asia. Before joining CDC, Sara worked in the US at the local and state level and within the private sector in similar capacities. Sara has also served as Peace Corps health volunteer in Guatemala. Sara holds a Master of Public Health in International Development from Tulane University’s School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine and a Bachelor of Science degree in nutrition from the University of Wisconsin – Green Bay.

                                                Dr. Kwame Amponsa-Achiano is a Physician Epidemiologist, Consultant Public Health Physician, and a Deputy Director-Disease Control in Ghana with extensive experience in medicine and public health. He heads Ghana’s Immunization program, having previously served as a Medical Officer, Clinical Research Officer, District Director of Health Service, Vaccine Safety & New Vaccine Coordinator. In 2012, he coordinated the simultaneous introduction of rotavirus and pneumococcal vaccines into Ghana’s Routine Immunization. He has helped to train many Public Health Specialists at the Ghana College of Physicians & Surgeons, where he was appointed Training Coordinator in 2015. His focus is on immunization, vaccine safety, public health surveillance and emergency response and has led several disease outbreak investigations and response activities in Ghana. He graduated BSc., MBChB from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science & Technology and holds an MPH (Ghana) and a Diploma in Health Systems Management (Galilee International Management Institute, Israel). In 2015, Kwame spent time at Yale, Connecticut, as a Post Graduate Associate in the Department of Pediatrics, where he completed the 2015 Research Fellowship Program. He also passed through Cambridge (UK) and the Albany Medical College (New York) for medical electives in 1998/99. Through his leadership, Ghana became the first country to receive and deploy COVID-19 vaccines from the COVAX facility. In 2023, he received the Ghana Presidential honors award of the Order of the Volta-Companion Division, for his contribution towards the fight against COVID-19 in his country. Kwame was one time, a Child Health Specialist at the UNICEF Office, Accra.

During this period, he has worked and led various public health programs as District Disease Control Officer, Regional Surveillance Officer, Regional Disease Control Officer, Programme Officer at GHS headquarters, Polio Surge Staff at the World Health Organization country office (Ghana), Field Epidemiologist (Tanzania), and he has provided several consultancies services for reputable agencies and organizations on the international front. Sally has extensive experience and understanding of local and international needs in field epidemiology, surveillance systems for disease prevention and control, outbreak response, research methods, planning and implementation of Community-Based Health Planning and Services (CHPS), general management, monitoring and evaluation of public health Interventions. As data manager, he is skilled in report writing, data management and analysis, DHIS2 implementation, GIS applications, ODK, ONA, Power BI and all round in the use of various software packages for data management. Sally contributes to training of health care professionals. He has received awards for dedication and professionalism he exhibits at work. In 2023, he received the Ghana Presidential honors award for his contribution towards the fight against COVID-19. She paved the way for the modernization of human resources management, with the support of the Organization and Methods Office. One of her greatest achievements is the implementation of the IHRIS software, which, since 2014, contributes to the dematerialization of the mapping process and, above all, the real-time availability of reliable data on human resources. He has 15 years' professional experience burying his nose in Excel sheets, Access databases, aggregate collection forms, cloud infrastructure, and ETL software of many stripes. Since joining BAO he has worked on myriad DHIS 2 implementations for many different countries, provided onsite training, and is currently a senior engineering manager on the PEPFAR project. He spends his time managing the development of both the primary data collection system (DATIM) and the data validation and processing infrastructure (PDAP). Additionally, he is a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer from Vanuatu, where he spent more than three years providing IT education to the young and old alike. During his service, he worked with the WHO and Ministry of Health as they transitioned their HIS systems from Access to DHIS2. Training end users both in the capital and on remote islands, he was an essential part of growing the HIS competency of the MoH staff. Before his service in the Peace Corps, Tim worked as an ETL specialist for an insurance company, playing a vital role in bringing new business through automated, secure data exchange. He speaks English and Bislama and holds a BS in Business Administration from Oregon State University.
