Aimee Preuss BSN, RN, IBCLC, ANLC Aurora Medical Center - Kenosha

Aimee will share how AMC Kenosha were part of a pilot EMPower Best Practice Initiative funded through the CDC. EMPower Best Practice Initiative is a hospital-based quality-improvement initiative focused on improving skills in evidence-based, patient-centered birthing practices supportive of optimal infant nutrition and delivery of equitable lactation care. This program outlines the 10 steps of successful breastfeeding and we integrated them into our hospital routine with guidance of the program starting in the clinic to the postpartum. We have integrated skin to skin into our OB Emergencies simulations focusing on safe STS positioning and family based care.
