Understanding an injured person’s cognitive abilities and cognitive demands of their work is imperative for successful return-to-work. Analyzing the essential physical demands of work can be difficult, and even more so for cognitive, behavioural and sensory demands of work. Digital tools are available to make this process easier.
In this webinar, you'll learn how digital assessment tools can improve client access, efficiently deliver critical information for your JDA - including abilities and match/no-match, and help to connect these insights to successful return-to-work programming. Additionally, you will learn how incorporating a neurofunctional framework into your vocational rehabilitation process as part of a holistic approach can improve your client’s recovery, their ability to live well, and, ultimately, achieve their goals.

Bio: Tracy Milner is the co-creator of the BrainFx neurofunctional assessments, author on the Canadian Model of Cognitive Skills (submitted for publication) and co-creator on the new Cognitive Behavioural Sensory Job Demands Analysis (CoBS-JDA). Her mission is to measure and understand the effects of mild to moderate brain disorders on real world function. She is an occupational therapist who has practiced extensively in neurorehabilitation with adults and children for more than twenty years. Over the course of her career, she has led rehabilitation organizations as part of two national health organizations and co-founder of a provincial practice for complex injuries and neurological disorders. Being an early adopter of the use of technology therapeutically, she has been prominent in Ontario in delivering seminars to thousands of health professionals on how to leverage digital health and smart devices in clinical practice. Tracy is currently President of the Board for the Ontario Rehab Alliance, previous auto-sector committee member with the Ontario Society of Occupational Therapists for more than thirteen years, co-authored the reflective resource on assessment of attendant care, worked as a member with the expert panel of the Ontario Rehab Alliance on catastrophic definition and has participated in several government committees and projects.
She has presented at many brain injury, neurodegenerative and health conferences (by invitation, via peer reviewed submission) in Canada, including provincial conferences, and the US, notably the Washington TBI Conference and HIMSS, as well as directly to hospitals and community rehabilitation centers.
She has a BA with Honors in Kinesiology and Masters in Occupational Therapy from Western University. She is currently pursuing her PhD at the University of Alberta. Tracy Milner’s work at a Masters level went on to be published in the Canadian Journal of Occupational Therapy and Occupational Therapy International. She teaches the assessment module for the post-graduate Health Coaching for Chronic Disease at York University. Tracy is passionate about neurofunctional assessment and intervention and views her executive role at Highmark Interactive, which recently started publicly trading on the TSXV as HMRK as her opportunity to combine her love of research, technology and clinical practice to positively impact not only her own clients, but adults and children globally.
