Session Description

As VR professionals we must be able to exercise effective decision-making skills by working through real-life ethical dilemmas.

VR professionals must develop skills to balance their roles as human service workers and actors in a legal framework and public policy system. Without specialized training, it can be difficult to understand one's “legal” roles, responsibilities and obligations.

This session will assist you with developing the requisite skills for applying ethical and legal decision-making to the kinds of situations you may encounter within your practice.

Learning Objectives

The Participant will:

  1. Have a better understanding of the foundations of ethical theories and principles and the ethical decision making process;
  2. Be able to define ethical dilemmas and learn techniques for managing them;
  3. Learn best practices for managing common ethical dilemmas;
  4. Learn the intersection of the common law, professional based statutes and the VR professional.

Date: September 8th 2021 – 1100 – 1300

CEUs will be offered for this session.
