EXPERIENCING LITURGY AS CONTEMPLATIVE PRAYER

Friday, December 10, 2021- Sunday, December 12, 2021

Beginning in the fourth century Christian teachers increasingly emphasized the twin roles of sacred scripture and liturgy as the pri-mary sources of contemplative prayer. In the workshop we will study of ancient, medieval, and modern spiritual authors who encourage us to experience sacred liturgy as a spiritual ascent towards intimate union with Jesus Christ.

Fr. Luke Dysinger has been a monk of Valyermo since 1980.  He is a priest and a physician who writes and teaches in the fields of mystical theology and biomedical ethics.  He earned a Ph.D. at Oxford University and currently teaches at St. John's Seminary in Camarillo, CA as well as online courses.
