Jamie Lembo
Resident in Veterinary Ophthalmology
Dr. Lembo grew up in the Northeast in Southern Connecticut. She developed a love for both animal care and teaching at a young age. She attended Cornell University in Upstate New York and further developed an interest in veterinary medicine, having studied Biology and Animal Science. After graduating from college, Dr. Lembo decided to make a big move across the country to pursue her dream of veterinary medicine at the Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine. While many areas of veterinary medicine were interesting to her, she felt connected to the study of ophthalmology in all animals, both big and small. During her clinical year of school, Dr. Lembo received the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists’ Veterinary Student Award for her interest in and devotion to veterinary ophthalmology. She then moved back to the Northeast to complete a Small Animal Rotating Internship at the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University in Massachusetts, and shortly afterwards completed an Ophthalmology Specialty Internship at the Long Island Veterinary Specialists in New York. Dr. Lembo is excited to work with the enthusiastic and dedicated doctors and staff at The Animal Eye Institute. While the study of ophthalmology can be challenging, she finds that working with the clients and pets at The Animal Eye Institute is rewarding and can even be fun! Her current interests include management of corneal disease and surgical corneal repair. While she has spent much of her life in the Northeast, Dr. Lembo is quickly and happily calling Cincinnati “home.” In her free time, she enjoys painting, baking and spending time exploring the outdoors with friends.
