What is Mindfulness?

Learn mindfulness practices for the whole family. These events are open to children of all ages along with their parents, grandparents, and other caregivers. 

 

Course Description

What is mindfulness and how does it affect our brains?  We'll explore these concepts through art and short, fun, mindfulness practices you can build into your family's daily routines. 

 

Pricing

One adult: $25

One adult plus one child: $30

One adult plus two children: $35

Family (2 adults and any number of children): $40

Cancellation Policy

If you cancel up to two weeks prior to the event (9/6/16), you will receive a full refund less a $5 processing fee. If you cancel within two weeks leading up to the event, you will receive a partial refund of 50% minus a $5 processing fee. Refunds cannot be granted on or after the day the class begins.

 

 

Pay it Forward - Support the Scholarship Fund

If you are able to pay more for the course, we encourage you to consider donating to the Mindfulness Outreach Fund which allows CCFW to offer 50% and 100% scholarships to community members to aid in the cost of registration fees for mindfulness courses. Scholarships are awarded to increase accessibility of mindfulness and compassion training for individuals who have limited resources to obtain such trainingand to those who work in communities experiencing adversity. About the Instructor

Robyn Long leads CCFW's community outreach and dissemination efforts. She has completed several teacher-training programs in yoga and mindfulness, including specialized courses for children, youth, cancer, trauma, disabilities, and pregnancy. Prior to joining CCFW, she facilitated community-research yoga program for pediatric cancer patients and their families at the University of Calgary. At Perkins School for the Blind she developed and led a yoga programs for children and teens with visual impairment and deafblindness. Robyn has also lead global partnership building initiatives at Harvard School of Public Health and facilitated mindfulness and health programs for refugees in the Middle East.
