Fine-Art Winter Photography Workshop in North Dakota with  Marc Koegel - January 19 to 25, 2025:

UPDATE: 2025 Workshop has only 2 seats left!

Join Photographer Marc Koegel for this unique fine-art photography workshop!

After 10 years of photographing the Canadian Prairies in Winter, this is the first time this workshop is offered in North Dakota, USA. We will have a full week to roam this region, and will put this extended time to good use to explore deeply and photograph when the conditions are just right.

We will begin and end the workshop in Minot, North Dakota. During the week we will also be staying in Devil's Lake and Bismarck. Marc travelled along this route with 2 private clients in the Winter of 2024 and previously in the Fall of 2023 as well. He is very excited about the unique opportunities that North Dakota offers for photographers. Expect to photograph incredible abandoned churches, lonely trees on snowy fields, old wodden grain elevators, fence lines and other small details...with virtually no other photographers around.

With a very small group of only 5 photographers, we won't be in each other's way and everyone wil have the opportunity to create personal, expressive work. Being a small group also allows us to respond quickly to changing weather conditions, taking full advantage of our time.

We will maximize time spend outside photographing, but make sure to allow frequent time and oppprtunity for in-depth reviews and critique of the work being created.

As with all winter workshops, you can expect very cold temperatures so please dress in warm layers. We will never be far aways from our vehicles, so we can retreat and warm up anytime.

This workshop will meet in the city of Minot, North Dakota. This will also be where the workshop will finish on January 25. Please book your flights so that you'll arrive by 5pm on January 19th, and your departure can be anytime after 8am on January 25th. We will meet in the lobby of the Holiday Express and Suites in Minot at 6pm for our first group dinner on January 19th. More information will be emailed to registered participants approximately 2 weeks before the workshop begins.

All-Inclusive or Tuition Only Option:

This workshop is being offered as a package including hotel accomodations (private single rooms for each participant in Holiday Inn / Best Western Class Hotels) and transportation (in extra large luxury SUV).

If you prefer, you can also opt to book your own accomodations (we will let you know where the group will be staying) and also drive yourself. Just select this option when registering online.

All meals other than breakfast included with hotel stay will be the responsibility of each participant.

Digital camera equipment, or film in any format (including 4x5 and larger) can be used. You can choose to shoot in black and white and / or color.
