Fine-Art Winter Photography Workshop in Regina with Olivier Du Tre and Marc Koegel - February 3 - 6. 2022:
UPDATE: 2022 Workshop has only 6 seats left!
Join Photographers Oliver Du Tre and Marc Koegel for this unique fine-art photography workshop! For 2022, this workshop will be offered in Regina (SK) for the very first time. This location offers a lot of minimalism, remote abandoned homesteads, historic churches, single trees and much more. This workshop will be of special interest to all of our alumni who have taken this workshop before in either Calgary or Saskatoon.
The distinct winter landscapes around Regina requires specialized skills. This workshop will allow you to develop and hone these skills, while at the same time experiencing a variety of shooting locations. You can expect to see abandoned farms and homesteads, lone trees, grain elevators and beautiful minimalist scenes such as subtle snow drifts, fence lines and much more. If you appreciate the work by masters such as Michael Kenna, then this workshop is most definitely for you!
Oli and Marc have scouted the area extensively and always try to make the workshop different than the previous one by putting new locations in the mix. Oli’s elegant photographic style and his ability to point out the unseen, seamlessly mesh with Marc's technical expertise. Together, Oliver and Marc will not only teach, but also inspire you to see the world that little bit different.
As this is a winter workshop, you must be prepared for temperatures as low as -40 degrees Celsius (equals -40 Fahrenheit). Yes, we understand that this is cold, but as a trade-off this workshop will place you in one-of-a-kind locations that will yield very unique, minimalist fine-art photographs that cannot be duplicated or captured at any other time of the year! And really, it hardly ever gets that cold, on average you can expect -10 degrees Celsius.
A vital element of this workshop is the honest feedback you’ll receive on your work. You'll be working one-on-one with Oli and Marc in the field, and in the classroom the duo will provide everyone with ample in-depth reviews of their work.
This workshop will be held at the Home Inn & Suites Hotel at Regina airport. This hotel will be our base for all 4 days and provides quick and easy access to our shooting locations. This way, we can maximize our time in the field together.
Please note that the workshop fee does NOT include hotel accommodation. If you are not from the Regina area, please book your own room at the aforementioned hotel.
Digital camera equipment, or film in any format (including 4x5 and larger) can be used. You can choose to shoot in black and white and / or color.
COVID 19 Policy:
We expect every participant to be fully vaccinated and ask you to please bring proof with you. We will spend a lot of time outdoors, but please bring a mask for the indoor sessions.
We usually provide transportation to our shooting locations, and we will be offering it again for this workshop, but considering COVID we would appreciate if you could use your own transportation whenever possible (maps will be provided)
Should we have to cancel the workshop due to a change in the pandemic (i.e. rise in current cases) you will receive a full credit of all monies paid. You can use this credt for when the workshop is rescheduled, or on any workshop, course and/or online class we offer.
