Foster Care Training - Part 2: Trauma Informed Parenting
This training has been designed for new and prospective foster care parents. You can expect to be introduced to the child welfare system, the key professionals in the system, and the child's experience coming into foster care. In addition, participants will explore parent-child attachment, mental illness in children, the trauma-informed parenting approach, and culturally competent parenting. This training is intended to help caregivers understand behaviors in foster care and from hard places.
This training qualifies as 4.5 hours of credit toward foster care license certification and recertification, as well as the annual training requirement.
Lunch will be provided for participants.
