Hampton Roads Chapter - Opioid Updates & Management

The SHM Hampton Roads Chapter is holding an in-person event on Friday, September 9, 2022 at 5:00 p.m. ET at the Virginia Beach Town Center City Club in Virginia Beach, VA. Please join the chapter for networking and for an educational presentation provided by Dr. Jessica Mees-Campbell. Opioid misuse and overdoses are at epidemic levels and is a public health emergency in the United States. Join Dr. Campbell in a discussion on the correct way to diagnose opiate use disorders, including the role and limitations of urine drug screens in assessing severity and concurrent addictions. Learn how to devise a treatment and management plan according to current standards, including in complex patients with polysubstance abuse. Finally, understand the history and current role of opiates in the management of pain in patients at high risk for dependency. This educational event will satisfy your Virginia State Opioid requirement.
