Facilitated by Dr Ben Turner and Associate Professor Melissa Kendall Service Systems and Transitions Stream
A transition has been defined as a passage, movement, development or evolution from one state, stage, subject, or place to another. Rehabilitation is full of transitions from the point of injury to retirement and death. These transitions include those across different services within the rehabilitation continuum as well as those across different life phases for the individual, their families and communities. Research within the Division of Rehabilitation has had a strong focus on rehabilitation transitions in the past and continues to inform and enhance rehabilitation transitions through relevant applied research today. As service systems and the socio-political landscape within which rehabilitation is provided change and unfold over time, the challenge for the future is to identify, conceptualise and engage in research relevant to emerging issues for rehabilitation transitions.
Become connected with transition research Learn where we have come from, where we are currently (with a special presentation from Dr Mandy Neilsen- ABI TRS) and help drive transition research into the future.
