This interactive training workshop will give your team members practical advice on how to interview candidates to help them progress the strongest applicants for the opportunity rather than the applicants who are the best at performing during interviews. Attendees will learn techniques to put nervous candidates at ease and draw out relevant information from those who have great skills in the role but perhaps not so much in the interview room.

Content includes:

• Best practice for structuring and conducting an inclusive, two-way interview meeting

• Selling the opportunity during the interview - closing the candidate starts here

• Best practice for interviewing candidates with a view to understanding them fully (i.e. is the candidate strong in the role but just not confident in interview scenarios?)

• Designing a set of competency based interview questions specific to the role to identify relevant skills and behaviours

• Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging – Questions to ask & questions to avoid

• Assessing the candidate’s answers using the STARR technique

• Understanding what’s most important for the candidate

• Identifying potential red flags during the interview (e.g. likely longevity in the role due to study commitments or future aspirations)

• Understanding the likelihood of team fit

• Understanding what’s most important to the candidate

• Benchmarking candidates and candidate selection

• Clinical interview processes v operational interview processes
