Dr. Brooks is an assistant professor and associate department chair of The Chicago School of Professional Psychology’s School Psychology program. Dr. Brooks is also the owner of Keys To Care Psychological Services, LLC. She is a licensed school and clinical psychologist and earned her PhD in School Psychology from Loyola University Chicago in 2018. She has previously worked as a survey researcher for a federal contractor, as a school psychologist in Washington D.C. public charter schools, and as a private practice psychology associate in Maryland. Her research interests include the intersection of racial identity, ecological systems, and academic performance as well as social justice in school psychology. She currently serves on the editorial board of the Journal of Educational and Psychological Consultation and previously served as an Illinois School Psychology Association (ISPA) student representative.

Emily Her is a management consultant from the University of Chicago's class of 2021, born and raised in the Bay Area, California. Despite being an “always happy-go-lucky” top student and graduation speaker of her competitive high school, her internal conflicts and trauma brought suicide attempts leading to a psychiatric hospitalization at age 16. Throughout her 21 years, Emily has been diagnosed with various disorders including depression, anxiety, anorexia, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and borderline personality disorder. Because of these defining experiences and disorders, she hopes that she can give back to the world by sharing a raw vulnerability that shows we are never as alone as we think. Her book, “Everything I Leave Behind for You”, is a reflection on the lessons she has learned through her mental health challenges and healing. Emily is a strong voice for young adults in the conversation about raising mental health awareness in professional workplace and competitive education settings: her story demonstrates that what one shows on the outside may not be what they feel on the inside, and the importance of recognizing and reconciling the complicated voices within all of us.

She has been employed at Evanston Township High School since 2004, during which time her roles have included Dean and Special Education Social Worker. Marilyn and Larry Cohen founded the Naomi Ruth Cohen Family Foundation in 2000 in honor of their daughter Naomi Ruth Cohen who died by suicide at age 33 having struggled with bipolar disorder. Their mission is to reduce the stigma that for far too long has been a barrier to individuals and families being able to access the treatment and support that they need and deserve. Albert is the founder and CEO of his Non-Profit organization “Invisible Book Bag Inc.” founded May 2018. This organization came about because he saw a need to further serve in a capacity to lend his experience and help even more kids in underserved communities that are socially and economically deprived.
He is also a Delinquency and Gang Prevention, Recreational Specialist for Habilitative Systems Inc. (HSI) in Chicago, IL.
For 30 years he has motivated and inspired individual youth throughout the troubled areas within the city boundaries. As a prevention specialist Albert has worked closely with Juvenile Court, Board of Education, Homeless Youth and many different gangs within the city of Chicago. Albert is an attentive listener; keeps it simple and the message has the tough advice of street and common sense. The kids took his words to heart.
Also, during the last 30 years, Albert has provided countless hours of free workshops and training geared toward social awareness, empowerment, career development and educational enhancement to the students at the Chicago Public School System.
Albert is the co-founder of the Men of Austin, a Community Gang and Violence Prevention organization. A sport was the outlet used to reach their goal as a forum for moral ethical development. The organizations mission was “social development through the net.” The Men of Austin organized basketball tournaments/clinics to the community at no cost up until the summer of 2017.
Albert’s continued dedication to his community has allowed him to be recognized for the following achievements: Legends Taking Back the Streets – Legendary Achievement Award 2018; Foundation For Student Athletes Lifetime Achievement Award (Nike/FSA) 2014; Anheuser Busch Unsung Hero – Man of the Year Award; Austin YMCA – Man of the Year Award; Chicago Public School Benevolent Award; Youth Guidance Motivational Speaker; Two National Syndicated commercials profiling Albert’s contribution to inner city youth and Outstanding Commitment to Excellence (Big Brother Big Sister Read Aloud Program).

Dr. Ana Belmonte is the Department Chair of the Forensic Psychology department at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology, Chicago Campus. Dr. Belmonte earned her Psy.D. in Clinical Forensic Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. She is a licensed clinical psychologist in Illinois and Wisconsin. Dr. Belmonte's clinical and research interests include evaluation and assessment with forensic populations, competency/fitness to stand trial restoration, issues related to family law and families in conflict, such as divorce, parenting capacity, and child custody, and policy and legal advocacy. She has extensive training in the evaluation and treatment of forensic populations, working with both adult and juvenile populations in criminal and civil courts. Dr. Belmonte completed her pre-doctoral internship and post-doctoral fellowship at the Kane County Diagnostic Center where she completed general psychological evaluations, sex offender evaluations, risk assessments, fitness evaluations, and pre-employment screenings on candidates applying for positions within the Kane County Sheriff's Department. Dr. Belmonte was previously the Director of Assessment and Research at The Chicago School Forensic Center/Interwoven Community Counseling Center. Dr. Belmonte also was the Associate Director of the Outpatient Fitness Restoration Program at The Chicago School Forensic Center, which is the largest program of its kind in the state of Illinois funded by the Illinois Department of Human Services (IDHS). David Baron, MD, was born and raised in part in New York City, and later in Livingston, New Jersey. He received his B.A. in Psychology (magna cum laude) and M.D. degrees from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. Dr. Baron went on to complete his psychiatry residency at Tufts/New England Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts.
Dr. Baron is a Clinical Assistant Professor at Rosalind Franklin University/The Chicago Medical School. In that role, he supervised psychiatric residents in their community psychiatry rotation for 15 years. During that time he also served as Administrative Psychiatrist, and Interim Director of Mental Health Services, for the DuPage County Health Department, supervising 50 psychiatrists and over 200 other clinical staff.
Dr. Baron’s clinical and administrative experience and practice since completing his training in 1989 has been within a developmental neurobiological understanding of mental illness. Over the course of his career, he has worked to understand mind and brain as different languages for the same essential human experience, including the complexity of neuroscience, the evolutionary basis of the human brain and behavior, and the deeply personal subjective experience of every individual.
Dr. Baron is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and is a Distinguished Life Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association. He served on the Ethics Committee of the Illinois Psychiatric Society as a member from 2001 to 2006, and as Chairman from 2006 to 2011.

She began her career in different mental health outpatient settings and for the past decade has worked in private practice specializing in working with complex PTSD/trauma, addictions and relationship struggles, such as codependency patterns and “people addictions” (sex, romance or love addictions). She also has expertise in working with self-injurious behaviors, Adult Children of Alcoholics (ACOA Recovery), family of origin issues, grief and loss, women’s issues and infertility struggles. She has a passion for working with adolescents within the system and advocating on their behalf. During her undergraduate studies she found a passion for restorative justice and its impacts on communities. Working with professors on research made it evident that holistic approaches are essential. As a volunteer with Lawndale Christian Legal Center, working alongside them in their Restorative Justice Community Court (RJCC) setting, Lyssa has developed a new understanding of the intersection of legal, social, and mental health challenges. Mark A. Reinecke, Ph.D. is Professor Emeritus of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences and past Chief of the Division of Psychology at Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine. He also served for 14 years as the Director of the Center for Cognitive Therapy in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neuroscience at the University of Chicago. He is a Distinguished Fellow and former president of the Academy of Cognitive Therapy, and a Diplomat of the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP) in Clinical Psychology and Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychology. Dr. Reinecke also is a Fellow of the American Psychological Association, the Association for Psychological Science, and the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies. He is the 2015 recipient of the Cynthia D. Belar Distinguished Service Award from the American Psychological Association. His research and clinical interests center on understanding and treating depression, suicide, and anxiety among children and adolescents. He has lectured internationally and has served as a visiting professor at institutions in Europe and Asia. Widely published, he has authored or edited eleven books, including Cognitive therapy across the lifespan, Comparative treatments of depression, Cognitive therapy with children and adolescents, Personality disorders in children and adolescents and Cognitive-behavioral therapy with adults. His first book for a general audience, Little ways to keep calm and carry on was published by New Harbinger and a new book, Landmark papers in psychiatry (Oxford University Press) was published last year.

Ms. Henry received her Master of Counseling at Northeastern Illinois University and was certified to provide addiction treatment services by the Illinois Certification Board in 1991. For nearly 20 years MS. Henry supervised Recovery Point, a program of Community Counseling Centers of Chicago (C4), where the primary focus was serving clients who were dually diagnosed. Pete Myers, Psy.D. earned his doctorate in clinical psychology from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology in 1999, after having completed his master’s degree in the social sciences at the University of Chicago in 1992. Prior to his graduate training, he graduated from Kalamazoo College with a bachelor’s liberal arts degree with a major in psychology. He has worked in the field of mental health for the past 33 years. His background is grounded in psychodynamic and family systems-based approaches.
Over the course of Dr. Myers’ career, he has been invested in and strives to work with young people of all ages and their families to overcome severe, persistent, and debilitating mental health challenges that are interfering with their abilities to grow into the persons they want to be, and, to live a life that brings them healthy relationships, meaning, joy, and accomplishment. He values working with families, recognizing the importance of the interdependence between individuals and family in understanding the challenges and building a future. Beginning with his work at the Sonia Shankman Orthogenic School at the University of Chicago, he has been a strong leader and advocate for quality interventions for LGBTQ+ individuals, in particular gender diverse individuals, which are affirming and respectful of one’s identity development. Sharon Weingarten is a teacher and licensed social worker, earning her MSW summa cum laude from Loyola University Chicago. She has worked in both public and private schools and has had the unique experience of being guest teacher for WorldTeach, conducting classes for students, parents and teachers. She is proud to have created a writing project for Mental Health America in 2003 that continues annually and now gives the Sharon Weingarten Founder’s Award to a deserving student each year. Sharon serves on the Institutional Ethics Committee of Northshore University HealthSystem, and the Interhospital Education Subcommittee. She also sits on the Agency Oversight Committee of New Trier Township. In addition, she is a member of the Planning Committee of the Naomi Ruth Cohen Institute for Mental Health Education of the Chicago School of Professional Psychology and sits on the Professional Advisory Boards of Erika’s Lighthouse, Mental Health America of the Northern Suburbs and Northwestern University’s Camp Kesem, a national program for children who are impacted by a parent’s cancer.
Sharon’s passion is intergenerational communication. Tara Gill has over 15 years of experience providing clinical interventions and evidence-based mental health services to children, adolescents and families. She is a Psychologist and Mental Health Consultant with Lurie Children’s Center for Childhood Resilience and an Assistant Professor at Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine. Dr. Gill has several years of experience delivering clinical and case management services to children, adolescents, and parents while working in outpatient, community, hospital, and school settings. Dr. Gill’s extensive background in community-based work was honed during her years as a consultant for schools in and around the Chicagoland area and with children from marginalized communities with high rates of trauma. Her work at the community level has guided her career to include advocacy, child welfare, policy and community engagement with an emphasis on racism and inequity. In her role as a mental health consultant, Dr. Gill collaborates with schools, school districts and community organizations to achieve increased access to evidence-based mental health services and develops systems of supports for and with educators, community leaders, and other mental health professionals. Through consultation, training and coaching, she works to build the capacity of schools and other youth-serving organizations in areas of evidence-based, trauma-informed interventions and supports to serve children.
Dr. Gill has served on the Chicago Department of Public Health Trauma Informed City initiative and is currently working in a hospital collaborative to build trauma-informed hospitals. She is on the Steering Committee of Alliance for Research in Chicagoland Communities (ARCC) and Center for Community Health at Northwestern University. Dr. Gill also serves as a member of the Race and Equity subcommittee of various groups, as she strives to integrate culturally sensitive practice into all of her community and research endeavors. Dr. Gill’s publications and recent advocacy has related to elevating youth voice and bringing equity into community engagement, enhancing healthcare pipelines for workforce development, and in increasing mental health supports in schools.
She received her Bachelor of Science degree in psychology from Jackson State University and Master’s degree and Ph.D. in clinical psychology (child track) from DePaul University.
