Come join us for a day of learning all you'll need to have a successful Spring on your farms and homesteads! We’ll take an in-depth look at two different species and two different management styles. Whether you’re a small scale producer looking to be fully prepared and to mitigate risk, or a large scale farm seeking hands on experience and priceless advice, this workshop is designed for you! Ashley, Katherine and Bruce will share their experiences and show you what they have learned over the years. Ashley is a small farmer with top dairy goat genetics. Katherine is a veterinarian. And Bruce is a larger scale grass farmer direct marketing beef and lamb. We will have an informative day with practical knowledge to help you get your sheep flocks and/or goat herds doing their best.

Since 2007, Dragonfly Farms has produced grass finished beef and lamb with three main elements; Genetics that have the ability to fatten on grass alone, grazing management to improve the quality of our pastures, and the patience to wait until the animal is properly finished before sending it to the abattoir. We’ve successfully pasture lambed since 2010 and have the experience and expertise to help others do the same without the steep learning curve. Our Community Outreach Coordinator and co-host Ashley Ryan owns and operates a dairy goat farm in Louisa. Her operation is intensely managed and her education and experience can help others mitigate loss while driving profit for the smaller scale producer.
