Dear Future Teacher,
Dallas ISD is proud to announce that we are accepting applicants for our 9th Cohort of the Latino and Black Male Resident Teacher Program. This program is designed to improve student outcomes by accelerating access to effective and diverse teachers. Research has demonstrated that Black and Latino students who have at least one teacher who matches their ethnic background are more likely to graduate from high school, persist in college, and become career-ready. Dallas ISD is committed to providing our students with access to a proficient teacher by providing non-traditional candidates with hands-on experience in a paid teacher residency program.
About the Program
As an adjunct resident teacher, candidates will be paired with a cooperating teacher on one of our 230+ campuses. Adjuncts will also be enrolled in Dallas ISD’s Accelerated Alternative Certification Program at no cost. Through this program, adjuncts will learn the art of teaching and, upon successful passage of state certification exams, become a Texas certified educator with a guaranteed teaching position on one of our campuses.
Adjunct Program Duration: 1 Semester
Salary: $30,000 for the semester
