In this session, we will take a deeper dive into why and how OST programs can align with the regular school day. Research shows that alignment can improve academic performance and work towards closing the achievement gap. This type of collaboration best serves the youth and is mutually beneficial for school districts and OST program providers. As a result, organizations and their staff should make an intentional effort to align the instructional activities of the OST program with state and local content standards (TEKS in Texas).
