Mediation Skills Program
The United States District Court for the District of Rhode Island, in partnership with the Roger Williams University School of Law and the Rhode Island Chapter of the Federal Bar Association, is proud to announce its intensive hands-on mediation skills training program.
This program will provide hands-on training in mediation skills, and will take place from May 2 to May 5, 2017. The course will be an intensive four-day program to be held at the Federal Courthouse in Providence, Rhode Island and at various faculty law firms in the downtown Providence area. The faculty teaching the program will include federal judges, Roger Williams Law School faculty, and experienced Rhode Island trial lawyers. This program offers 8.0 CLE credits, including 1.5 ethics credit. Registration will close when the program is full, so interested attorneys should apply as soon as possible.
The schedule for the program is as follows:
Tuesday, May 2: 3 to 6 p.m. Lectures and panel discussions with a reception to follow.
Wednesday, May 3: 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon or 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Workshops
Thursday, May 4: 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. or 1 to 4 p.m. Workshops
Friday May 5: 10 to 11:30 a.m. Panel discussion and wrap-up

Partial scholarships are available to lawyers of all backgrounds who require financial assistance.
If you would like to apply for scholarship funding, please first contact the FBA at rratcliffe@rhbglaw.com with a brief description of the nature of your law practice and a request to be considered for a scholarship. If you are awarded a scholarship, you will be provided with a special code which should be used when you register for the program.
