Every year we deliver more mess, more fun and more amazing opportunities to connect with Jesus in a personal way.

Life Teen Aotearoa Summer Camp is by young people, for young people. Throughout the week we aim to help you grow in deep personal relationship with Jesus and with your parish group.

If you are ready to have the #bestsummerever then register below.

Questions

Can my teen request to share a room with their friend?

Teens will be staying in the boarding houses onsite at St Peters Cambridge. Most accomodation will have semi-private "rooms" that are likened to cubicles. In most cases there is only one bed per room (overflow dorms have 2 beds). Rooms are not assigned before camp, but groups are assigned a block of rooms in the same hallway/dormitory for their respective (male or female campers). If teens would like to be next door to their mate it is on a first come first serve basis.

What does the cost for camp include?

LTSC is committed to providing the highest quality, all inclusive camp experience. Our venue provides private/semi-private accomodation, and three top notch meals per day. In partnership with our generous benefactors your registration costs also help to cover the activities for our young people, camp t-shirts, overhead costs, photography, our phenomenal camp host, and many more things that help to make camp the most memorable experience of the summer.

What if my teen can no longer come to camp?

Tickets are refundable and fully transferrable until 30 November 2023 and you may manage and cancel your own registration up until this point.

As of 1 December 2023, tickets are no longer refundable for any reason. Please coordinate with your group leader to find a suitable replacement for your teen as many parishes have taken on financial responsibility for registrants.

For more details, see the cancellation policy above

What will my teen need to bring with them to camp?

A detailed packing list will be sent to all group leaders, chaperones, and teens closer to camp, however if you are worried about what you'll need to bring packing lists in the past have included:

Clothes, messy clothes, swimsuits, water shoes, rain jackets, jerseys, a pillow, sleeping bag (or bed linen), towels (2), toiletries, torch, spending money, sunscreen, bug spray, Bible, journal, rosary, Water bottle, and sunglasses & hat.

My teens information was input incorrectly, how can I fix it?

Until the 1 December you are able to manage your own registration via the confirmation email sent to you.

My teen wants to bring a friend that is not Catholic, do participants have to be Catholic?

Absolutely not! LTSC is open to all teens, whether they are Catholic or non-Catholic. While teens wont spend the entire day praying, LTSC does provide an authentically Catholic experience every day. There are multiple sessions throughout the day about the Church and Jesus, opportunites for reconciliation, compulsory daily prayer, Mass, and Eucharistic Adoration and praise and worship. If your teen does not come from a faith background, we ask that your teens is aware of this and will be expected to be respectful of sessions and prayer time.

I'm a chaperone, what will my sleeping arrangements be?

We try our best to provide chaperones with private prefect rooms in the same area as your teens, but in some circumstances you may just have a semi-private cubicle. Each hall will have a minimum of two chaperones and you will never be alone with teens.

I am a chaperone, am I allowed to leave site to run a personal errand or errand for my group?

No. Chaperones must stay onsite with their group. If your group needs anything please speak to our Group Coordinator who will help accommodate your needs.

If there is anything significant (i.e. a teen or chaperones birthday) that you would like to celebrate please let our team know beforehand and we can try to make it as special as possible.

I have never been a chaperone at camp, what do I need to know?

Firstly, thank you for your "yes!" Even though we have a great mission staff, it is the chaperones that truly make camp memorable for our young people. In the weeks leading up to camp our Group Coordinator will host chaperone info night via zoom. Further details to come. In the meantime, please have a thorough read through our chaperone policy on the registration page. Also, at camp please dont hesitate to reach out to our team, and to other more seasoned chaperones. Our whanau is always happy to help.

I have not completed a safeguarding course, is it compulsory in order to be a chaperone?

Yes, chaperones must have all completed a safeguarding workshop through their Parish or Diocese. On the evening of 14th or 15th January the Diocese of Hamilton will host a Safeguarding Workshop for chaperones and missionaries who need to fill this requirement. Please notify our team if you will need to attend.
