Title: Addressing Burnout and Compassionate Fatigue: Self Care
The implementation of self-care strategies is essential when working in the field of social work, specifically with trauma survivors. The signs and symptoms of vicarious trauma, compassion fatigue, and secondary post traumatic stress are important for social workers and students to be aware of for their own well-being. This presentation will provide training on their symptoms, effects, and appropriate self-care strategies to lessen the impact of these conditions. This presentation will include experiential exercises including mindfulness, horticultural therapy, breath work, and Reiki.
