Minimal Japan 9 Day Workshop from Osaka with Marc Koegel -- November 2 - 10, 2024
A trip to Japan is an unforgetable experience. Join acclaimed photographer Marc Koegel for this exclusive semi-rivate workshop (only 3 participants) to the land of the rising sun.
This workshop is not a tour, it is a workshop. Marc will be working with you closely in the field, discussing techniques, composition and creative opportunities that each location visited together affords. You and your unique personal photographs created are the focus of this workshop, and you control just how much support and help you desire. Marc will be there for you, not to make his own photographs!
What makes this workshop very special is that we do not follow a predetermined itinerary. instead, we will follow the weather, tides and the light. And the wishes of all participants!
Rather than being rushed from place to place, we will have the opportunity to spend more time at our favourite locations, and even revisit if the group desires. The aim of this is to have everyone come home with truly great photographs, created when conditions were best. In addition to more well known locations we will also visit lesser known places, which gives an opportunity for everyone to create unique and personal photographs.
We will have a pre-workshop meeting on zoom about a week before the workshop. Marc will present a proposed agenda give the weather forecast and the group will decide together how to proceed. Refundable Hotel reservation will be made along several routes, so we can stay flexible while having security of pre-arranged accomodations.

- Ukimido (floating hall) along Lake Biwa

- Akashi-Kaikyo Bridge and other birdges
- Mishima shrine
- Breakwaters
- Tetrapod Factories
This will be a very small group workshop with a maximum of 3 participants only.
For this workshop we will meet at the Star Gate Hotel Kansai Airport. There is a free shuttle from Kansai International Airport, or take a 5 minute train ride.
If you plan to arrive in Tokyo, you can either take a domestic flight to Osaka or take the Shinkansen high speed train which will take about 4.5 hours only. At anytime you can contact Marc Koegel directly with any questions / comments.
You will be encouraged to work on a personal body of work, created with the help of Marc. Frequent reviews of our work provide encouragement and time relevant feedback that wil help you create your best work.

About this Photo Tour / Registration Details and Fees:
Included in the Photo Workshop Fee is the following:

* Expert leadership by Marc Koegel
* 9 days, 8 nights single occupancy accomodation

What is not included:
* Return airfare to Osaka
* Travel Insurance, including health and trip cancellation insurance (highly recommended)
* Meals and drinks
* Visas (if necessary)
* Excess baggage charges, airport taxes and other service charges
* Personal items (alcoholic beverages, laundry, film, batteries, etc)
A deposit of $2000 is required to reserve your seat in this workshop The balance is due 90 days before departure of your choosen workshop date. This is also the latest day the workshop will be confirmed. Your deposit is non-refundable unless we have to cancel or postpone the workshop, in which case you will receive a full refund of all monies paid.
