Nashville 103 Lecture Series- April 2022

New Horizons for the Music City (1945-present)

As a follow-up to her widely popular Nashville 101 and 102 courses, Davidson County Historian Dr. Carole Bucy will present a new series of Nashville 103 classes for 2022. This series will focus on Nashville's history from the post-WWII era up to the recent past.

• Session 1- Monday, April 4: “New! New! New! Nashvillians Become Suburbians with the Post-WWII Boom" (1945-1954)
• Session 2- Monday, April 11: “Wait No Longer: Integration of Public Schools (and Everything Else)" (1954-present)
• Session 3- Monday, April 18: “When Two Become One: The Creation of Metropolitan Nashville-Davidson County" (1957-1963)
• Session 4- Monday, April 25: “AND Then? Everyone Wants to Come to Nashville" (1963-present)

Due to the popularity of these classes and space limitations, registration is capped at 60 participants. For this reason, pre-registration is required. Although Dr. Bucy contributes her time to teach these classes, we request that registrants make a $25.00 contribution to the Metro Historical Commission Foundation. Your contribution will be used to fund local historic preservation projects. These funds have assisted with projects at Nashville City Cemetery, Two Rivers Mansion, and Fort Negley.
