GEORGIA LEWIS THEATER (on the campus of Coahoma Community College), 3240, Clarksdale, MS, 38614, United States.

RISE presents its inaugural Novice Teacher Summit. This event is dedicated to empowering and educating new Mississippi educators in their quest to instruct tomorrow's leaders. Our focus is building collaboration and the instructional capacity of educators in order to close achievement gaps and increase equity in our state. This year's topics will surround the goal of preparing teachers for the initial days of school.

This conference is perfect for teachers that have less than two years of teaching experience, but teachers who would like to improve their basic teaching skills are encouraged to attend. Sessions are designed to assist teachers in constructing resources to prepare for the first year of teaching.

Topics Include:

  • Classroom Management
  • Organizing for Success
  • "Must Know" Instructional Strategies
  • Creating a Classroom Culture for Learning
  • Lesson Planning 101
